You may have heard that somebody’s gynecologist found a cat hairball in her vagina. Why stop there? There are so many other wonderful tales to tell each other!
This week I thought we’d talk about the best ways to stay active if you spend most of your day sitting, whether it be because you’re studying or working a desk job or in another profession that requires lots of bum time.
How do you workout with an injury?
“I’ve come to the realisation that my fear of looking dumb in front of people has been holding me back from finding new physical activities to love, and so I need a little help stepping outside my comfort zone.”
This week in fitness, I’m trying out yoga for beginners, gym-friendly podcasts and running apps.
“I’m definitely not a believer in those no/low carb diets, it’s more that my bread to non-bread daily ratio is waaaayy off and I need to cut back a little. Just a tiny bit, though, ’cause nothing feels as good as freshly baked miche sourdough tastes.”
This week I’m talking about working out at my apartment, finding the best germ-free water bottle, and a cool meditation app.
“What are you doing/do you want to do with your life? Sit with yourself, your love, your horrors, your victories, and your losses. Prioritize the answers to those questions that are not explicitly connected to a degree or career.”
My exercise routine has started feeling cruisey so in an effort to push myself a little harder and further here’s what I’m doing.
“If you’ve ever shared a living space with a partner or family member who wasn’t on board with your health goals, I’d be super interested in hearing how you navigated that.”
“I guess the thing for me is that I feel good in my current body. It’s not conventionally perfect but it’s mine. It’s familiar and all my clothes fit it and I don’t really want it to change, not if I can prevent it with a healthy balanced diet.”
“This will become a regular thing — a weekly recap of what’s working for me and what isn’t on my personal quest for improved health and wellness. There’ll be a lot of ground to cover because I have no fucking clue what I’m doing. Everything I know about health was taught to me by a giraffe that lived in a trailer.”
“While a big part of magic is claiming the parts of ourselves that are powerful, for me it’s also about discovering a solid set of tools to heal myself and my community.”
