Brittani’s Video Party: Ellen Page and Wanda Sykes are Mean Gurlz that Love Samesies

Greetings. This is Brittani’s Video Party, where I bring some of the “best” videos from all over my internet together so we can clap, cry or deconstruct. Have you ever gotten to a video and it already has 33 million views and you wonder where the heck have you been? Well I’m here to help you so that you see it when it only has 32 million views. Aim low, world. Aim low.

An early tribe has a population problem because everyone in the tribe just wants to bang bang with people of their own gender. This comedy sketch shows how they deal with this problem and throws in a subtle Dave Chappelle stand-up reference. It’d be nice if the female tribe members had lines but ya know, WOMEN. Can’t live with them, can’t live without silencing their voices, perspective, and concerns.

American Idol alum Todrick Hall has hit the YouTube game hard. He’s already had a couple of videos go viral and his latest effort is well on its way. What would happen if Mean Girls was set in ComptonAlex Newell and Antoine Dodson cameo.

Wanda Sykes has a new film coming out called The Hot Flashes. The title is an allusion to menopause making it a period film (haha, get it? Because period films usually mean something else but this time–nevermind. I’m sure you’re on board). Despite having multiple queer women in the film, it seems very heterosexual. It’s about middle-aged Texas women challenging a high school team in the game of basketball to raise money for breast cancer prevention.

Ellen Page learned to juggle from being a lonely kid on film sets. I assume you’ll think this is adorable because you think anything Ellen Page does is adorable. Post juggling, she goes on to explain freeganism and permaculture making this her gayest interview on record. This is to promote her new Eco-thriller movie, The East. I haven’t seen the trailer yet so it might be in Video Party next week, SPOILER ALERT.

If you have a video you think everyone should see, tweet it to @bishilarious for consideration. And of course feel free to post your favorite videos from the week below.

  1. Am I always going to crush on Ellen Page?
Also, I am typing this from beyond the grave. The Mean Gurlz video has ended me and I’ve already seen it but it just gets funnier!

  2. The mean girls parody made me cringe. Can we make something that features black people without exaggerating black stereotypes? (I’m looking at you Todrick Hall and Tyler Perry)

    • right?! its like a modern day minstrel show. i feel nauseated thinking about white folk watching this and laughing.

      • Honestly, I watched it and laughed and give zero fucks what white people think watching this. That’s just me.

          • OMG YES!!!!!

I passed out with the roll call, I’m dooooooone!

            “De-NICE”

            “Umm Denise.”
