The Comment Awards Are Avenging Barb

Happy Friday, muffins! I am headed out of town today to sit around in the mountains with friends who always heal my heart. We’re going to pointedly not talk about politics, and drink beer, and eat paskha and strawberries! I hope all of you have exactly the kind of weekend that you need to have.

This week, Molly took us to Spring Break.

Callie introduced us to Coady and the Creepies, the best punk-zine-meets-Saturday-morning-cartoon you’re not reading… yet.

Raquel reviewed Body Horror: Capitalism, Fear, Misogyny, Jokes, which is something you might be into.

The fifth season of Orange is the New Black is almost here! Will you be watching?

Well-played, Dickens, well-played.

Here are 61 Ways You Weirdos Described Yourselves When Signing Up For A-Camp. They’re all brilliant.

Erin’s still watching bad lesbian movies from the 90’s. This week: Bar Girls.

Barb!

And then there were your comments!

On Queer Folklore: M Is for Macha, Mythical Irish Queens of Misandry:

The Game Award to emmapet:

Okay it is serious GAME to seduce three men at one time while pretending to be leper, color me impressed

On Saturday Morning Cartoons: The Ex:

The Behind the Music Award to Mey:

Tfw your boss says she wants to know more abt the threesome w the boss

On That Time We Put On a Dead Lesbian and Bisexual TV Characters Haunted House at A-Camp:

The Falcon Around Award to Sally:

The only possible reason that I can imagine why people did not get this is that you were obvs missing that roof-jumping scene from everyone’s fave TV show lost and delirious.

On No Filter: Evan Rachel Wood Walks Into A Banana Museum:

The Tourist Award to Vicky:

When I read “banana museum” I immediately thought it was some kind of euphemism for people who decided to no longer have sex involving penises but then for whatever reason did it again, as like a chill thing. Like “I met a cool guy this weekend and I totally took a trip to the banana museum, but it’s no big deal” I don’t know if I’m more or less happy about the fact it’s an actual museum of bananas.

On Foolish Child #20: Foolish Marketing:

The YT Award to Shea and Chloe:

Shea: Who approved this award? Chloe: This answer is white people. White people approved that commercial.

On Stranger, Less Heterosexual Things: Barb, We Hope:

The Upside Downer Award to donnamartingraduates, Calista and a/s:

she was! i was like, why are all the gay children being targeted by this demogorgon? is the demogorgon mike pence?

On 61 Ways You Weirdos Described Yourselves When Signing Up For A-Camp:

The Bilympic Athlete Award to Katie and Chandra:

I’m shocked and disappointed that my pun about being a “bibrarian” (bi librarian) didn’t make this list. Was that too cheesy even for Autostraddle? ?

And the Tyler Durden Award to Brianna:

When I finished this I was like “oh wow, I really identify with 61, I wonder who wrote that?” And then I was like “I wonder what I wrote?” so I logged in and checked. It was me y’all. I wrote 61.
