  1. Omg I ugly laughed. Pokenerd humor is on point btw. I also used to be like this with football.. but then I bought tix to see the Rams at the Coliseum in December, lol. It’s a new thing for L.A.! We haven’t had a football team in a long while. The camaraderie and the parties can be fun! Haha

  2. I used to be a diehard Oakland Raiders fan, but thankfully I haven’t been able to watch football in years. Losing the 50ft of coaxial cable that I had at one point (Why did I have 50ft of coax cable? No idea.) and not caring about much of anything shown on television today has lead to this state of affairs, and it is likely to continue for a long time to come.

  3. I feel exactly the same! Football is stupid.
Why does it have to happen every year?
It has to die out someday, right??

  4. When I was a phd student I’d regularly wander onto campus to do some work in my office and find out…oh, oh shit, its a football day.

I even had to bore a security guard with my research to convince him I wasn’t there to trash the building. Just there to be a huge nerd, thanks.

  5. If only more queer ladies/people liked football. I used to always root for the Dolphins because A. dolphins are cute as hell. and B. They suck and I always root for the “underdog.” Stopped watching/caring though. Always seems too straight I guess lmao

    • I like football and I’m a queer lady! Maybe we should start our own queer fantasy league. With plenty of unicorns.

    • I root for the Dolphins because their colour scheme is breath of fresh air/retro coolness in this age of dull as fuck colour = masculinity.
The underdogness is probably a factor too.

If there were women’s football leagues, not the lingerie league, we’d be more into it like fùtbol. I think anyway.

    • I love football but pay vague attention to the Packers and mostly invest my energy in university football (SEC, baby!).

  6. This made me laugh. I grew up in Ann Arbor MI, where football was the civic religion. I rebelled by hating football as a teenager.

I’m less anti football than I was, but I’m still kind of surprised by it every year.

  7. I haaaaaaate football.

On the other hand, I am exactly that fan you’re depicting for hockey. (I mean like I’m also that person about whitewater but whitewater niche enough that the only people I make watch whitewater stuff are like…other whitewater people. And like my mom, who doesn’t count because it’s 2 parts “see ma I could be doing. WAY CRAZIER SHIT so don’t work about me” and 1 part “these are my life goals”).

  8. I don’t like watching football because I miss playing it.
Once you have tetas, no matter how small, they don’t let you play anymore. :(
Also I haaaate people yelling at the TV and how what ever network it is cocks up the volume so viewer can hear their stupid commentators. Like it’s bad enough the room of people or bar will always be full of shouty self-appointed commentators we have to have official ones too?

  9. oh god i completely relate although here’s it’s australian football. luckily i seemed to have mostly avoided the football frenzy as none of my friends are really into it.

  10. Ugh, my office full of bro-dudes is awash in football season blah-blah. I just try to tune it out until I can get home. Thankfully, most of my friends don’t care about it, so I don’t have to deal with it much off the clock.

  11. I have never been a Saturday Morning Cartoons character more than I am Shenzi in this. Minus the whole instinct thing. #TeamMystic
