Welcome to NSFW Sunday!

+ It’s National Masturbation Month! We’re already celebrating with a Self-Serving Playlist.

+ At the Crash Pad, Syd Blakovich writes about why there are gloves in queer porn and has tips for using them:

“If you have never used gloves before, it does take some adjusting to. I am big “practice makes perfect” kind of person. When you watch a lot of these videos, what you don’t see is the fumble time, water breaks, and switching on and off of the gloves and other items. It generally looks smooth and flawless but I can assure you it is not. It’s still a video that has been edited and in some cases has performers who are professional. It’s ok to take your time, it’s ok to laugh and giggle or feel awkward, it’s ok to play and have fun. Sex is entirely too serious. A small word of advice, unless you are double fisting someone, use one gloves at a time. You can used the gloved hand on your partner and the ungloved on yourself. Also make sure to use more than enough lube, never a such thing as too much, since latex seems to suck up a lot of it. If you are having a hard time getting the glove on, blow a big puff of air in it and quickly slip your hand in.”

+ Annabelle Bernard Fournier writes about things she would tell her younger self about sex:

“Your sexual satisfaction is in your own hands. This is more than simply knowing how to get off on your own (although that’s pretty important, especially during dry spells!) Nobody but yourself is responsible for being sexually satisfied. No, not even your long-term, committed partner. It’s important to assert yourself in bed, say what you like and dislike, and ask for what you want. If you don’t speak up, nobody will do it for you. If you’re not ashamed of who you are and what you enjoy in bed, you shouldn’t have any trouble telling your partners what you want.”

+ How Much Sex Is “Normal? “…our happiness hinges not just on how often we have sex, but on how often we have sex compared to the people around us. Regardless of how often respondents actually got it on, they were more likely to be happy if they were having more sex than they believed other people in their peer group were having.”

+ At Oh Joy Sex Toy, Erika Moen reviewed the Hitachi Magic Wand.

+ There is now a Parks and Rec porn parody called Porks and Rec.

+ Star Wars floggers and My Little Pony paddles: things that exist.

+ College-aged people are more likely to think about how they broke up rather than why, according to a new study.

+ A scholar recently found one of Vita Sackville-West’s (famous for her affair with Virginia Woolf) love letters to her lover Violet Trefusis when it fell out of a book. The poem is this:

“When sometimes I stroll in silence, with you
Through great floral meadows of open country
I listen to your chatter, and give thanks to the gods
For the honest friendship, which made you my companion
But in the heavy fragrance of intoxicating night
I search on your lip for a madder caress
I tear secrets from your yielding flesh
Giving thanks to the fate which made you my mistress”

+ Lana Fox’s “Smart Folks Won’t Screw Witless Girls,” from Femme Fatale:

“Elle waited there a second, sliding her fingers down my tank top, following the curve of my breast. I sat, heart thumping, breath caught in my throat, as her fingers worked their magic on my body, sending shots of pleasure down my front—shots that culminated deep inside my pussy. I thought about throwing her body against a wall, her hair collapsing down her shoulders as I ripped open that silk blouse and made that suave gaze of hers widen with amazement. I considered grasping the gorgeous breasts that swelled behind the silk and imagined biting the nipples that were so hard her bra couldn’t mask them. With her perfume filling my head, she whispered, “It’s yours if you want it, sweetheart.”

+ The LELO Flickering Touch Massage Candle is really cool because it smells great and when it melts it turns into actual massage oil, and you can get one free if you wanna buy yourself a Gigi Vibrator from Babeland.

    • They work SO, SO hard to try to find diverse images. I’m sure they would absolutely include a wider variety of ages if possible (after all, lesbians love older women, research says so!) – do you mind pointing Autostraddle to a website where professional-quality, ethically-shot images of older ladies in their undies are available?

  1. My little cousin kept going on and on about how he was broken up with via text but he was obviously just really upset about his first breakup. I think its often just a way to try and make yourself feel a little better.
