VIDEO! “Words With Girls” Episode 5: Mimicry

Happy Wednesday. Here’s a new episode of Words With Girls for you. It’s the longest one yet which obviously means it’s the best. In this episode, Brittani and Hannah are dating. Maybe. But they can’t be. But are they? Guess you have to watch and see for yourself.

WORDS WITH GIRLS is a mostly scripted but part-improv comedy webseries that focuses on 20-somethings in Los Angeles. When they’re not busy navigating “the scene” or jumpstarting their careers, these women do what the young, gifted and bored do best: shoot the shit. The episodes will showcase the friendship and witty banter of a few women that happen to like women. Word to the Bechdel Test.

Per the usual, you may subscribe to the youtube channel which seems foreign and scary but it’s not, I promise. I did a horrible job of putting make-up on my girlfriend the other day AKA queered a youtube tag. These are the kinds of things you are missing by not being subscribed. We are doing important work. You should also like us on facebook because that is how our society shows approval and follow us on Tumblr because that’s how gays show their approval. As always, we appreciate the support and/or pity. Thank you.

Brittani Nichols is a Los Angeles based comedy person. When she's not tweeting about white people or watching television, she's probably eating pizza. Actually, she's probably doing all three of those things concurrently and when she's not doing THAT, she's sleeping. Brittani also went to Yale and feels weird about mentioning it but wants you to know.

Brittani has written 329 articles for us.

  1. oh god i just realised that i probably should be toning down the cuddly with my bffs, that bed wrestling thing we did yesterday could be misinterpreted quite easily i suppose

oh god oh god oh god the wrongness oh GOD noo

  2. This episode was my life. Because if you’re gay at boarding school, then you and your out best friend must be dating, simultaneously making it look like you’re getting some and making sure that you’ll be, in reality, forever alone.

  3. When I was a senior in college, and still unaware of my own homosexuality, my mother came to visit me. After spending a morning hanging out with me and my friends having brunch (during which there was much affection and cuddling), my mom pulled me aside and asked, “Tessa, are all of your friends lesbians?” I was surprised, laughed, and said, “No mom, of course not. We’re just all really close.”

Turns out three of us were homos. Woops.

  4. I just, this shit just keeps getting better and better, which is quite an accomplishment since it was magical and hilarious from the beginning. Also, thank you for straight bait and DTS, I don’t know how I’ve lived 7 years as a queer without those in my vocabulary.

  5. This shit is hilarious. And I’m not just saying that because I have this weird loyalty for anything Autostraddle related, but.

Most of all, I feel as if my vocabulary and pick-up slang has exponentially increased as a direct result of watching Words with Girls.

And for that, I thank you!

  6. Lez get real, I have at least three friends I can think of offhand who go after the same girls I do.

Sometimes I’m the one who tends to get the girl, sometimes I’m the one who doesn’t, most of the time no one does, and it’s always just kinda weird and I feel really bad either way?

  7. I have to admit, I absolutely hate watching things on the internet. One of my least favorite activites, but, I give that up for Autostraddle, and I don’t regret it. Just watched the series as a way to procrastinate from sleeping, and this was hilarious!
