In the third installment of Straddler on the Street, Vanessa chats with blogger and MC extraordinaire Ryley about genderqueer style, nightlife and whether or not it’s okay to put milk in your tea.

It’s the very first Monday of 2013, and we have a brand new Straddler to kick off the new year. Meet Caro, a Miami native who talks to us about creating a queer girl meet-up group in her city, working for a non-profit that provides education on gender and orientation, and crushing on Chely Wright.

Meet Jaime, a born and bred Southerner and our very last Straddler of 2012. Jaime talks about many things including her love of New Orleans, teaching Southern lesbian literature and her “crankypants and utterly adorable” cat Stella.

Our fourth Straddler on the Street is Julia; she chatted with us about burlesque, fat acceptance and making the body political.

In which we talk about the future with Bklyn Boihood, “a collective that provides visibility and promotes the empowerment of masculine of center bois, lesbians, queers, trans-identified studs, doms, butches and AGs of color.”

As promised, Dani Campbell took Autostraddle with her to this year’s Winter Party Festival in Miami Beach, Florida; where she chatted it up with Pam Grier (Kit Porter from “The L Word” and FOXY F*CKING BROWN), who is actually the most awesome person of all time. Dani gets tips on becoming a better activist from Rea Carey, the Executive Director of the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force. The camera loves Dani Campbell, it just told me so!

We sat down with Dani Campbell (probably best known for A Shot At Love, though she’s hoping to change that) to talk about likes/dislikes, thoughts, feelings, and dreams.
