Laneia

Executive editor

Laneia just wants to live in the forest and wear scarves and skirts and talk about tea. Instead she lives in the suburbs of Phoenix with Cheryl The Knitter and two little dudes who have cool names and grape-juice-commercial-faces. One time, she made a really beautiful quilt out of vintage fabric for a baby she’d never met. She has a yellow origami balloon in a red box on her bookshelf. Laneia’s probably a lot like you, but with 70% more feelings and 2/3 fewer shoes.

Go ahead and follow her on twitter.

Crystal

music editor

Crystal has spent most of her adult life as a music writer and band / tour manager. Originally hailing from Sydney, Australia, she was adopted by Autostraddle after traveling to New York City with a sole missing from her shoe. Crystal likes to wear black and listen to Green Day like she’s still 13. She digs band t-shirts, Sara’s shoes and spending money she doesn’t have on concert tickets. Oh and right now she’s going through an intense Kaki King phase. You should email or follow Crystal if you want to send her free CDs or you know who her next favourite band should be.

Becky

Style Editor

” Hola, my name’s Rebecca but you can call me Becky. I don’t have a twitter, but maybe someday I will. I can play sweet nothings for you on my banjo but really I have an otherworldly addiction to Top 40. I dance too much. I pride myself on my cuban heritage, my collection of Criterion dvds, and my stocked liquor cabinet globe. I used to keep a wine journal back when I was captain of the chess team. Now I live in an apartment with four of my friends at Wesleyan University where we talk about hegemony a lot. I’m a film and anthropology double major so I can make films like Dazed and Confused. I was going to name my car cognito so I could say ‘i’m traveling in-cognito right now’ more often than not, but then I named hir César. True story. We should be friends. ”

Katrina

Katrina Casino

Senior Writer

Katrina is a 19-year-old grrrl splitting her time between her great homeland of New York City and Washington DC, where she is a second-year student at American University. She loves activism and hates sleep, which is convenient because neither of those things really allows for the other anyway. She thinks that slang is rad. As a math equation (with words, because she is bad at math), Katrina would go as such: writer + riot grrrl = wrioter grrrl. When not manifesting itself as a mathematical equation, Katrina’s life usually reads out like a lesbian coming-of-age novel, though sometimes she wishes it were more like a bad 1950s lesbian pulp fiction story. Also, she really, really, truly believes that the revolution is upon us. Come read her rantings about it on her twitter and blog!
