In the holiday spirit, I’ve been dreaming up the ultimate lesbian meet-cute: ‘Twas a snowy night before Christmas when Christine and Ella are each headed to the airport to fly home to their families and they get into a fender bender. That article on more lesbian romantic comedies is great. I liked how she wrote about how so many of these films are depressing and talk about the darker side of coming out. I think that’s why I don’t enjoy a lot of those movies. Real life sucks enough, I just want a happy, romantic lesbian movie!

Life is often shit, so a bit of escapism is good for health and well-being.
If I want reality, I can consult my experience or those of my friends, or watch a documentary.
I hear you on the trash. The best thing to ever happen to our trash was starting to compost. The stuff that makes the trash stinkiest and heaviest no longer goes in there, and I only have to take it out like once a month!

Too bad, I’m grinchy about it.
Personally I like the idea : since helping the poor is an area super-infused with religious charity, it makes a nice change from the usual bunch of do-gooders to see some queer folx helping out. It’s good to see that we, too, can help, and that it’s okay to ask us for help! And on the flipside, the down-and-out need positive gay role models too !

The ageism on twitter is killing me with people complaining about another age gap lesbian movie being made. But i’m not surprised. When have we never complained about any lesbian movie ever made before.
