Queer as in F*ck You

Ughhh I think I’m supposed to tell you all about this? I still don’t quite know who Grimes is or even who Elon Musk is, but sure: Grimes and Elon Musk Had a Secret Baby (If Grimes is in fact not alphabet mafia-related, someone let me know and I’ll move this to the other section! 🤷‍♀️)

A Texas Mom Who Invited Ken Paxton for Dinner to Meet Transgender Son Says She’s Now Losing Her Hair Over an Investigation Prompted by His Opinion. “Amber Briggle is speaking out again, after making headlines for inviting the Texas Attorney General to dinner in 2016. Texas Child Protective Services is investigating her family.” When I tell you this is horrifying…

Jussie Smollett Sentenced To 150 Days In Jail. As he walked out of the court room, Smollett exclaimed, “I am not suicidal” — which whatever your opinion on Jussie Smollett aside (and I can promise you, unless you are a queer Black person I am not interested in hearing it), is a chilling reminder of the dangers Black people face in the hands of state-sponsored violence and the vulnerabilities he faces in prison.

  1. That doesn’t surprise me about Disney. Disney has always been about good all preppy conservative, buttened up family values air quotes. Makes me sad. I can’t understand why I still love their story so much. I wish I didn’t.

  2. FYI I don’t think Grimes is queer, I couldn’t find any interviews or articles where she talks about being queer/pansexual! She’s probably like Natasha Lyonne, very straight but aesthetically and artistically queer-adjacent

  3. Sad about Disney, but not surprising. Disney has always been uber concerned about their image to what they perceive is their core audience.

I am over 40 and still haven’t figured out why we can’t love and show respect for each other without judgement. I just don’t get it.

Just got done watching a few of my favorite scenes in La Cage Aux Folle. In my mind, it’s one of the most beautiful love stories of all time….more beautiful and touching than any Disney film!!
