Hello and welcome to this thing we’re doing where we help you figure out what you’re gonna put in your mouth this week. Some of these are recipes we’ve tried, some of these are recipes we’re looking forward to trying, all of them are fucking delicious. Tell us what you want to put in your piehole or suggest your own recipes, and we’ll talk about which things we made, which things we loved, and which things have changed us irreversibly as people.
Breakfast is the most important and also best-tasting meal of the day. If I ruled the world, we would have Breakfast for lunch, breakfast for dinner and then also have breakfast for after-dinner mints. Then we’d wake up the next day and be like, “oh man, I’m glad it’s the morning, because that means it’s time for Breakfast for Breakfast!” Because one good thing about breakfast being a morning affair is that it is chock-full of opportunities to eat something that’ll get your brain and energy totally stoked to seize the day. Here are 31 recipes with energy or brain-boosting ingredients that will taste good and are also GOOD FOR YOU.
i never knew how much i needed breakfast taquitos in my life.
WORD
I really need to stop reading articles about food when I am hungry.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Exactly my jam.
So many of these look really good. Particularly excited about the egg muffins.
Some of these recipes make me feel very clueless about food. Like, when did bee pollen become an actual food and not a thing for bees? Don’t bees need it? (Not criticism, more reflection on my own cluelessness.)
Also, where do you even buy bee pollen in the grocery store?
How is quinoatmeal pronounced
i was imagining “keen oatmeal”
i was thinking “keen-woatmeal” personally
I mean, “kee-nwaaat-meal” is pretty delightful to say. But you could also make “keynote meal” puns.
I’ll know I’ve made it in life when I have the time/life skillz to have a hot breakfast on a non-weekend morning.
For me, this post is full of resolutions.
I love how these range from “I would never eat that” to “I could actually make this in the morning and not want to die a little.” I have problems eating in the morning and also mustering the time and energy to even make food.
a lot of these can be made the night before, and then the next day you wake up and are like “thank you, self, for making me breakfast.” or “thank you, wonderful partner / friend / rommate for making us breakfast.”
it’s like y’all know exactly what I need in my life!! can’t wait to make these during finals week when I have time to cook and need some extra brainpower.
My lady and I both work from home on Wednesdays, and I have already sent her the recipe for that sweet potato, sausage, and kale hash with the message, “We should make this tomorrow.” Yesssss.
These look amazing. Especially 21 and 22. I’m a night owl working a morning shift and breakfast is ESSENTIAL.
Also, you’ve convinced me that I’m buying a blender after I move. Why have I lived this long without a blender?
