  1. 1) I’ve found it works on chrome for Mac but not for PC, so basically that means I can’t read autostraddle at work, which is probably good for my career?

    2) I don’t know if this is useful, but http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/autostraddle.com seems to think it is down as well, which might support the redirect theory?

    3) let us know if you need us to call and annoy hostgator
on your behalf, I’ve got a half-day at work tomorrow. Also, let us know about the subsequent boycott.

    • Re: 2) DID NOT KNOW THAT WEBSITE EXISTED, THANK YOU. That is the question I was thinking the entire time I was trying to access AS on my netbook in Chrome but I was too afraid people would think I was inept if I went asking around.

  2. I have been so sad the past couple of days, It’s sooo inconvenient to have to open Firefox and all…(The previous statement was dripping with sarcasm.) Thanks for all the hard work with the kitten comic strip, it made my day.

  3. Haha I opened IE just to read this cause I haven’t downloaded firefox on my compy.

Tess was extremely nice when I sent her an email about it…I’m sorry you probs get 32894034132423 of them daily (approximately). TESS YOU ARE A GOOD HUMAN.

  4. (Feels superior using chrome on a macbook)

OMG KITTENS. I loled and smiled and it was awesome. :)

Thank you Tess and Riese and all autostraddle people/kittens for working on this! We <3 youuuuu!

  5. I’m just going to check/read/worship AS from my phone for now. I love teh kittehs!

Also, Tess, I’m really sorry that I sent you an email about this. Clearly my statement that I am not the technical genius that you are was an understatement.

    • I like how it took this long for Opera to be mentioned. Guys if you are not cool with Firefox 3.6 being slower than your crock pot then try out Opera it’s great. Super fast! Although actually the Firefox 4 beta is pretty fast too.

Also I am on Chrome on Mac and PC and it works fine. On Linux though, it doesn’t seem to be working.

  6. This post just gave me the best career idea ever: Tech support with kittens. Somehow you get to borrow a kitten while receiving tech support. You can thus calm yourself by petting the kitten and relax while all your technological woes are taken care of.

  7. I came through on my rss feed to let you know, that indeed, before sunday, AS works in chrome (on my mac).

I was not expecting the most epically adorable kitten comic strip of tech support ever.

    Thanks for the giggles!

  8. Omg I thought I was going insane trying to get AS to work in Chrome. I recently had to go through my registry and delete a bunch of java stuff (long story) and since AS wouldn’t work after that, I thought I’d deleted a necessary file on accident.

I feel much better knowing this. I’m using IE at the moment (I deleted Firefox because redirecting tracking cookies would never go away and giving me viruses) and can’t wait to get back to Chrome!

Thanks for the kitty cats, they seriously made my afternoon much more lively.
