I took some time off, but much like the leaves changing colors, apple cider, pumpkin spice lattes, and that crisp air nipping at your neck, I’m baaaaack :)
Queer as in F*ck You
Yesterday I wore full leggings and heavy sweatshirt for the first time in months! The sun is setting at 5:30pm! I lit a candle! Welcome to spooky season, witches!
Listen, it’s my personal belief that all witches are gay and that’s just a fact. In particular, The Craft witches are DEFINITELY all gay, if only because they inspired 25 years worth of gay girls. Case in point, here’s a round up from the Autostraddle slack about the announcement:
Carmen (that’s me): I think it looks so good and I didn’t know how bad I wanted ittt to be good but now wow I really want it to be good!
Drew: “The trans girl only has one line but the protagonist has such short hair!” is what I just said out loud to myself. 🤦🏻♀️
Valerie: For some reason I thought it was a show when it was first announced but it being a movie and also blumhouse gives me more hope than perhaps is safe.
Shelli: IM UPSET ABOUT IT — but I’m gonna watch it and try not to judge.
Malic: This looks too cutesy. But I will absolutely watch.
Anyway, the reboot-sequel stars trans actress Zoe Luna as one of the core four witches, so get ready. Your quarantine Halloween just got gayer.
Queer People Are Way More Likely to Suffer From Migraines. We are anxious. There, I solved the mystery. Where’s my cookie?
Eddie Redmayne Stands up for J.k. Rowling Against Internet “Vitriol.” To which I say, f*ck him forever and also this is exactly why Jen Richards will always live in my head rent-free:
every time I see Eddie Redmayne's name, I think about the moment in Disclosure when Jen Richards talks about the link between cis men playing trans women in movies & violence against trans women in real life. pic.twitter.com/wd2NutZIk3
