The passing of Andre Leon Talley has really shook me to my core. And I think, more than anything, this is really it:
The loss of ALT feels like a tremendous tragedy, not just because of his eye, his encyclopedic knowledge of and devotion to fashion, but because he endured so much cruelty/fat phobia/racism to do what he loved. Fashion itself was a refuge for a tall Black boy from Durham 💔
