This “Ni**as in Paris” Spoof Swags Bookshops Out

Books, right? They’re so sexy. Sometimes you probably sit and think of all the things you could do to a book. Stroke it. Finger it…s pages. Use it to fan yourself once you get done with sexytimes. They’re not meant just for reading. Oh, no. Books are meant for stunting on hoes and that’s exactly what La Shea Delaney and Annabelle Quezada do in B*tches in Bookshops.” This video is the nerdiest possible take on my jam of all jams, Kanye West and Jay-Z‘s “Niggas in Paris.” It brings forth two attractive women rapping about books which the whole entire world, literary and other, should appreciate.

  1. Unreal. So funny.

Also I love how at the beginning they’re kind of obviously giggling a little. In a good way.

  2. SO perfect! I work at a bookstore and we were all watching this a few days ago, so glad it finally made its way to Autostraddle : )

    • Same here!! I feel like it should just play on repeat at my bookstore haha. If the owners don’t implement that I’m going to have to learn all the words and just make it happen myself :p

  3. I love this. I love them!
Also dig how I’ve read a lot of the books they’re holding…

  4. “Books are meant for stunting on hoes.” My school teacher always said that and I never believed it, until now. You’ve made me believe.

And I think singing the entire “I am now marking this page…don’t let me forget this page” part really intensely every single time I put an unfinished book down is going to be added to my collection of habits that will ensure I stay alone forever. I love it.

  5. Awesome! I still feel bad about owning a Nook, but I seriously don’t have space for anymore books in my apartment. Nothing beats good old paper and ink though. <3

    • My best friend Facebook walled me this video and I proceeded to Facebook publish it so my friends could all see how sexy it is to read.

  6. As a librarian I LOVE this video….
