The Thirteen Days of A+ Returns Next Week

It’s that time of year again, where we look around, and with one collective, grateful sigh, realize that we’re still here. This indie queer media site / publication / community / experiment remains not just in existence, but also with plans for our future ever more in reach. This is possible in large part thanks to our A+ members. Because of our A+ members (because of you, if you are one!), for the second year in a row, we’re publishing A+ content for 13 consecutive days in December. It’s the 13 Days of A+! When does it start? This coming Monday, December 13th!

Some of this will be our usual content. We have advice and a spectacular edition of S L I C K lined up and some of it will be comprised of special treats, include one larger project that I think you’ll be pretty into. 👀

Can’t wait until next week? THIS WEDNESDAY, in just two short days, Culture Editor Shelli Nicole is hosting a watch party with The Princess Switch 3. I’ve never seen one of these! Which princess is the switch? All of them? Let’s find out!

Not an A+ member? It’s an awesome way to support indie queer media and help keep this ship sailing forward. Our site may be free to read, but it isn’t free to make, and so, as thanks for keeping us going, A+ members get some bonus content. In December, they get 13 days of it! You can join for as little as $4 a month or $30 a year.

Okay sugar plums, see you Wednesday for the movie, and Saturday for the A+ E-Newsletter, and Monday when we kick of our 13 Days of A+!

Thank you for everything you’ve done for this space. We’ve made it so far with the help of our community and let me tell you we have DREAMS for the upcoming year. In the meantime, we’re looking forward to celebrating with you.

Before you go! Autostraddle runs on the reader support of our AF+ Members. If this article meant something to you today — if it informed you or made you smile or feel seen, will you consider joining AF and supporting the people who make this queer media site possible?

        • i just emailed you. subject: ‘google search screens’, look for 2 attachments.

queer girl – i don’t have safesearch on, and it happens in 2 different browsers in both private and regular mode. so it looks like google just decided some of us get warnings? like, i’m so boring that i have delicate sensibilities which gay ladies et al will suddenly have me clutching pearls that apparently i’ll have to go buy now…

          • That’s really interesting! Thank you for sending the screenshots!! I was able to put safesearch on and get the warning. We’re trying to figure this out because clearly it’s not very fair!

          • ok, i think i figured it out because yesterday the were back and and you had just posted the Slick article – so google may be spidering your content and then putting up the content warning when the recent post have what the algorithms are encoded to read as explicit. guesstimating some of this, but likely some parts are right – but it will take a little more looking to confirm my suspicions about the timing. hope somehow this help, @nknhall

    • Oh no! I’m sorry to hear about your having to quarantine. I hope you’re as okay as possible. As for the Discord, not this time, unfortunately. We actually had a discussion about it, but decided to wait because so many people are super busy this time of year / likely wouldn’t make it, and they’re only as good as the number of people who can hop on them! Maybe you can join us for Shelli’s watchalong tomorrow?! Would love to see you in the chat!
