Taylor’s Team Pick: Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein Both Hot and Funny

Carrie Brownstein (former Sleater-Kinney guitarist and all around hot-shit) made a comedy duo with some dude from SNL a million years ago and I didn’t even know about it? Huh? In other news, she’s got a new supergroup going and is writing a book or something. Also she made me gay. Love her.

  1. WILD FLAG IS THE BEST MUSIC NEWS OF MY POST S-K LIFETIME.
I hope this is the beginning of Autostraddle talking about Carrie Brownstein waaaayyy more. Augh. All-time crushiest celebrity crush. When I saw them live back in 2003 I just about fainted when she walked onstage. I mean oh my god look at her here for instance:

(Honestly though I haven’t been too impressed with her comedy. But who cares, I’d watch Carrie Brownstein watching paint dry.)

  2. Just the title of this made me really excited and happy. I have tried so many times to explain my adoration for Carrie Brownstein to my friends none of whom seem to understand why she is so very awesome. I miss Monitor Mix (her blog on NPR), but cannot wait to see Portlandia and Wild Flag. As soon as Wild Flag announce a tour date anywhere near NYC, I will immediately buy a ticket. That concert will rock (not only because of Carrie, but also Mary Timony, Janet Weiss who are awesome musicians too – I’m sure Rebecca is too, I’ve just never heard anything by The Minders).
