Sunday Funday Loves Its Two Gay Moms

Happy Sunday Funday! This week is Valentine’s Day and if you’re smart at all, in the slightest, like literally in any way, you will order a heart-shaped pizza and eat it by yourself while thinking about all this good news.

Four Heart Shaped Pizzas reduced

This week, the WBC loses two of the clan and puppies go to New York Fashion Week. Also, Obama is awesome or something, and Madonna has an Instagram. I don’t think you can handle this.

Meghan Phelps-Roper Leaves Westboro Baptist Church

In a blog post, Meghan Phelps and her sister Grace walk away from WBC. Fred Phelps just lost two of his granddaughters to sanity.

In a city in a state in the center of a country lives a group of people who believe they are the center of the universe; they know Right and Wrong, and they are Right. They work hard and go to school and get married and have kids who they take to church and teach that continually protesting the lives, deaths, and daily activities of The World is the only genuine statement of compassion that a God-loving human can sincerely make. As parents, they are attentive and engaged, and the children learn their lessons well.

This is my framework.

Until very recently, this is what I lived, breathed, studied, believed, preached – loudly, daily, and for nearly 27 years.

I never thought it would change. I never wanted it to.

Then suddenly: it did.

And I left.

And in his spare time, he’s advanced the gay agenda even further by nominating Todd Hughes to be the first out gay judge in the Court of Appeals.

Equality Updates

+ Freedom to Marry is fucking with some real big bills. They’ve pledged two million dollars to the worldwide search for rationality and equality!

Lesbian Wedding

+ Same-sex spouses in the military will soon be extended more of the benefits they are supposed to have but still don’t.

+ In North Dakota: a bill to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation in “housing, government, public services and the workplace.”

+ In Quebec, having gay adoptive parents is so fetch.

“I would like to have a mother, but I wouldn’t want to lose my two dads,” says Frida, a radiant six-year-old Canadian girl unaware of the international controversy raging over gay parenting rights. […]

Since 2002 Canada’s Quebec province has also allowed gay and lesbian couples to adopt children. […] Today, one in three couples seeking to adopt in Montreal are gay or lesbian, said Louise Dumais, who succeeded Carignan at Montreal’s adoption office.

It’s A Gay World After All

The new President of Disney World is gay. (His name is George Kalogridis.)

Does this mean now I can get in at some discounted price? Or that Princess Jasmine just may hit on me and make all my dreams come true next time I go back? Or that Disney will soon open a huge themed park dedicated only to converting straight kids into huge homosexuals?

We can only hope.

According to his official Walt Disney World bio, Kalogridis, 59, has been with the company for 41 years. He comes to his new role in Lake Buena Vista from Disneyland Resort, where he has served as president since 2009. Kalogridis’ job titles also include CEO for Disney Resort Paris, vice president of Travel Operations at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and vice president of Epcot.

Kalogridis is a sociology graduate from UCF and was born in Winter Haven. According to the Orlando Sentinel, he and his partner, Andy Hardy, have been together for 12 years. The couple plans to build a home in Golden Oak, a subdivision being developed by Disney World on the northeast corner of the resort’s property. Hardy is a finance manager with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts global entertainment, according to the Orange County (CA) Business Journal.

Roseanne Cash Helps Homos with Music

Proceeds from Roseanne Cash’s song “Jim and George” will benefit LGBT outreach programs at a Greenwich Village church.

As a longtime supporter and member of the St. Luke’s community, I am so happy and humbled to offer this track to help benefit the outreach programs at St. Luke’s,” Cash said in a statement on St. Luke’s website. “I wrote this song about an elderly gay couple in Chelsea who were very dear to me, and it was an exercise in compassion and awareness to see myself through their eyes, and them through my eyes. Love is love, and love doesn’t contain itself within arbitrary borders of gender, orientation, race, nationality, creed, or age. Love is love, and I send as much as I can to the outreach programs and the entire St. Luke’s community.

Fox News Trolls Itself

Fox News used a photo of a lesbian couple in an article about how to find a husband. I think God is crying or something.

Masculinism is a Fucking Joke

I think this is proof that feminists are super witty and funny, to be honest.

After some Reddit/4chan MRA babies tried to make #INeedMasculismBecause happen on Twitter today (co-opting the popular feminist meme, because EYEROLL), it blew up in their faces bigtime.

  1. Let me preface: I think it’s great that two WBC members have defected. But I really had an issue with the bit in the Reporter’s Notebook piece on the blog where they announced it(https://medium.com/reporters-notebook/d63ecca43e35) where the reporter said, “Think of how hard it would be to have a fortress of faith built around you, and to have to dismantle it yourself, brick by brick, examining each one and deciding whether there’s something worth keeping or whether it’s not as solid as you thought it was.” Sure, that’s rough. But it’s a thing that most people do growing up, many of whom don’t just do it once- they re-evaluate it frequently. I have sympathy for that thing in the way I have sympathy for anyone doing something that’s emotionally rough and takes time and work, but it comes in limited amounts.

Maybe it’s just the phrasing? I think the more pertinent point, for which I have endless amounts of sympathy and a healthy amount of respect, is “Think of how hard it would be to, after having been brainwashed your entire life and hidden away from examples of anyone applying critical thinking to their beliefs, to suddenly decide to think on your own.”
