Got a bruised ass from a really great impact scene last night? So bruised that you’re past the point of “mmm sitting is going to be so uncomfortable, I win” to “oh fuck, sitting is going to be so uncomfortable”? At Salty World, Lina Dune recommends fragrance-free moisturizer, arnica, Epsom salts, stretching, water and tons of ice:

“[S]o now you’ve taken your moist, dewy bod over to the dungeon (or more likely whatever regular bedroom or studio apartment your Dom practices in), and you’ve received a lovely beating resulting in a sore ass. If heavy impact is part of your play, you may find yourself with lingering evidence of what went down ranging from light redness to all-out bruises. Ice is your first defense against taking down any kind of swelling. As soon as you can after a scene, if you’re trying to minimize the damage, get a huge glass of water in your hand and your ass on some ice STAT. I like the soft gel ice packs that you can find on Amazon and at some drugstores. I keep two in my freezer in case I forget to put one back. They’re comfortable to cuddle with and won’t turn to disgusting mush like frozen corn will.”

Coconut oil has been found to be anti-fungal – but does it cure yeast infections in people with vaginas?:

“At best, coconut oil could do nothing, which would prolong the misery of your yeast infection. But Dr. Minkin cautions that trying to use coconut oil as a remedy might actually make your yeast infection worse — and that’s definitely not a favorable outcome. According to a blog post from River Place OB/GYN, coconut oil can create a biofilm in your vagina, essentially a layer that protects fungus and bacteria from being easily washed away. It may mess with your vaginal pH or microbiome too, which can up your risk of a future infection.”

At Salty World, m. writes about disability, intimate care and sex:

“I hope that I can find ways to engage in sexual intimacy with folks who are willing to mutually care for one another as I embark on this healing and understanding process. As disabled folks have been saying for years, disabled sex is hot! But, it can only be hot when there is acknowledgment and care for what someone’s disability means to them. Therefore, able-bodied people sleeping with disabled people must make intentional space to address their own biases, co-construct intimacy with their partner(s), and engage in deep care work. They need to show love for their partners as disabled people without divorcing them from that aspect of their identity. This means that we, as disabled folks, have to do the work of recognizing why and how we hold these views of sex.We must engage in solo healing practices that support our intimate engagements with other people.”

Sometimes being solo poly means that “the best part of having eight partners is being alone“:

“Even though I’m forced to spend most of my time alone, I’d still rather be solo poly than partnered right now. It turns out, I just like the time to myself. It’s pretty difficult to use polyamory for sex when you can’t actually have sex or date. Quarantine revealed how appallingly lame and mundane my polyamory truly is. Wild sex? Drama? No. Efficiently scheduled video chats and phone calls? Absolutely.”

  1. Interesting about coconut oil as I like it as a lube but so far only used it with solo play. I’ve been using it for butt play, but I probably should see how safe it is for that too.

  2. As a M-type. My go-to fav for impact aftercare is a dollop of organic coconut oil with two drops of Lavender essential oil as long as there isn’t any broken skin. Massage into the affected area daily. BTW This also makes a great total body aftercare massage oil when brining you subs feet back to earth.

Broken skin happens 🤷🏻‍♀️ Treat that area like any other cut or abrasion. Clean the area With soap and water and apply a cream with bactracine like Neosporan to aid healing and prevent infection.

Those of us who really sub out during a scene the stingy reminder that lasts for a few days afterwards Is a better feeling and longer lasting high than the memory of any orgasm that fades into the night. (Until the drop)

As far as lube It is my opinion that Coconut oil Makes a great Lube/ massage oil for breast and light anal play that has a great flavor on the tongue. But for intense anal play and penetration a good gel lube lasts longer and makes for more pleasurable bottom experience. But As they say your mileage may vary.
