We’d been emailing since she’d first reached out to me in 2009 to talk about my recaps, a few weeks before I’d transform my personal L Word blog into the Autostraddle that exists today — mostly just compliments, volleyed back and forth, some L Word gossip, but also a lot of yearning for the day she’d join Autostraddle.
