Pop Culture Fix: Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger Adopt a Daughter and Member of the 2040 USWNT

The greatest thing happened to me this weekend, y’all, which is that Valerie Anne started playing Animal Crossing! We hung out all day on each other’s islands yesterday! I haven’t seen her in a full year, and it’s the first time that’s been the case for a very long time because only live a few blocks apart, and oh! It warmed my heart! Every time she left my island, we smashed our little characters into each other trying to hug. Let’s go, vaccines!

  1. While an adorable song, did anyone else listen to that Blue’s Clues alphabet song and feel real strange when their brain thought “Bette! Bette! Bette!” at the chorus instead of “-bet! -bet! -bet!”? Just me? Cool. Coolcoolcool.

  2. Right now, with every show on Netflix getting a trial watch simply because I’m stuck at home, Grace and Frankie is the one show I legitimately binge like the old days (pre-Covid). I’m not the target demo, I don’t identify with any of the characters (although I love the asshole daughter played by June Diane Raphael), and yet I binge every new season the day it comes out.

There was always a constant fear in the background that due to the ages of the four main actors, every episode could be the last I see of the lovable doofuses. Needless to say, that has dialed up to a whole ‘nother level with the pandemic. So Dolly Parton? YESYESYES.*insert protect at all costs GIF here*
