“To L and Back” L Word Podcast Episode 302: Lost Weekend with Drew Gregory

Welcome to a very Frankensteined episode of “To L and Back”! Carly had to skip town this weekend for a very special opportunity, but you can join Riese and her very special guest host, Autostraddle Writer Drew Gregory, as they overanalyze “Lost Weekend,” an episode with a lot of good parts but also some bad parts!

But that’s not all! You may remember former Autostraddle Senior Editor’ Yvonne Marquez’s piece on The L Word: Latin Lovers and Spicy Bombshells: What “The L Word” Got Wrong About Latinas (beware: spoilers!), which addresses the Sharmen quinceañera scenes featured in this episode. So we wanted Yvonne on the podcast but she lives in Texas so instead we got Yvonne and her wife Gloria, who also happens to be hilarious, to recap those scenes for us themselves, and we’ve spliced them into the episode. Their bits are some of my favorite things we’ve ever had on the podcast and I think you will agree!

Love this week’s pod as usual <3 Just wanted to point out if anyone is watching the show for the first time alongside the podcast there are spoilers in the "What The L Word Got Wrong About Latinas" link..which btw thank you for that article and the podcast discussion, this white girl is much better educated now !

  2. I know native English speaking toddlers who know more Spanish then the main characters on this show.

  4. Great episode! I really appreciated Yvonne and Gloria. Also you should have Drew on more because she’s rad. Of course I still love Riese and Carly. I guess I just love everybody.
