Austin 1/22: Austin Autostraddlers Build Care Packages

Venue: Butterfly Bar
2307 Manor Rd Austin TX 78722

Event Date: 2017-01-22
Start Time: 02:00 pm
End Time: 06:00 pm

Host: Alaina Monts

Description: Austin Cares Homeless initiative is putting together care packages for folks experiencing homelessness the weekend of Jan 21-22. Since I know a few of us are interested in marching on Saturday, I thought we could get together on Sunday and do some work with our hands that can benefit folks in a more immediate way.

Here’s the real FB event page from the actual hosts: https://www.facebook.com/events/901167763347761/
So you sign up to bring something (if you can) and then we get there and pack some baggies!

I figured we could meet up there, build some care packages, and then go for coffee/drinks after if folks are still wanting to hang out!

  1. I hate that I will miss this (plus butterfly bar is one of my favorite places in austin!) but I will actually be in DC for the march. But I really hope that we can do something like this again in Austin! I work with Out Youth (and I’m in grad school for social work) so I’m always looking for new community partnerships and tangible ways to contribute to all the work that is being done here.
