Cinnamon is pretty much the simplest spice to use in anything. It’s been mixed in with horrendous pumpkin spice situations lately but deserves recognition all on its own.   2. cinnamon toast: spread butter/margarine all over a piece of bread, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top thoroughly, put in the oven on broil ’til the edges get crispy.

    toast with butter and cinnamon sugar put on it after toasting is also tasty but *not* cinnamon toast.

    i remember reading the pioneer woman article and while i’m sure hers is delicious, it’s wrong! if you mix the cinnamon sugar in with the butter instead of it being on top of it, you don’t get that nice texture going on. plus i dunno about using vanilla. the point is the cinnamon flavor, so who needs vanilla?

    anyway. yes. opinions. i think i need some cinnamon toast now.

    • Vanilla brings out other flavours though! I am not pro vanilla, but I am pro vanilla in cinnamon toast. I also mix the cinnamon sugar in and then sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar on top because we get only one life.

      • that seems reasonable maybe. though i’m still iffy on this whole vanilla situation. and yes, maximum cinnamon sugar for living our best lives forever. yes yes.

  3. Inspired by this article, I finally found out what cinnamon toast is. And as it seemed more suited to my cookery motivation atm, I’m eating it for the very first time now. It’s good!

    • It’s especially good (imo) if you go heavy on the cinnamon and light on the sugar. I always used them in equal measure and then a friend made it for me like this and it was so much better!!

  5. I want to thank whoever made that tray of cinnamon buns and left some without frosting because I H8 frosting and can never eat cinnamon buns other people make because they put a damn gallon of frosting on them.
