Let's All Look At Pictures of Rachel Maddow

LIZZ'S TEAM PICK:

Last night President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner both gave statements about the debt ceiling during prime time and Rachel Maddow Was On Vacation. This is Not Okay. How am I supposed to handle/understand/analyze/cry about political statements if the news isn't delivered to me from Maddow's shining face? How can I know how to properly cope with Political Feelings if Rachel doesn't show me how to make a tangentially related cocktail?

To ease my pain I went on a "pictures and videos of Rachel Maddow" hunt. I found it-- at Maddowphiles-Those Who Love Rachel Maddow Tumblr. This is not where you should go if you want to read about lots of political stuff. This is where you should go to see pictures like this:

    Thank you, thank you, thank you. Maddow-deficiency was hitting critical levels last night. Bumping into her on the street last year and getting her to stop and talk to me by saying, “uh, sorry to interrupt your day, but you’re kinda my hero…” still ranks as the best/most embarrassing moment of my life.

    Rachel Maddow is my spirit animal AND my butch-nerd super-hero. I’d like to hang out with her and make old-fashioned whiskey cocktails, read comic books, and listen to Lucero while she explains the Federal Reserve system to me.

    I am so glad I am not alone… I literally was waiting all day to see if she was on tonight and almost burst in to tears when she wasn’t. Quitting cigarettes wasn’t this hard. When is she coming baaaaaaaaaack?
