  • Brooklyn, NY 2019-09-22: Saturn Returned: a happy hour gathering for queer women & folx age 30+

Saturn Returned is having a Sunday! By request, we’re doing a weekend happy hour. Start the week with a bunch of lovely folx & yummy drinks!

New York offers a variety of queer events, but it can be hard to find a party that starts before 10pm — most of us have work in the morning and need our beauty rest. When you do get out to the party, you typically encounter a gaggle of fresh-faced adorable gays who don’t remember when MTV played music videos. Bless them, but it can be alienating for us more seasoned folks.

This party is for any queer-identified women (and queer-identified folks who date us) over the age of 30! That includes lesbian, bi, pan, queer, trans, non-binary, gender expansive, butch, femme, andro, and anywhere in between.
Saturn Returned welcomes all races, all genders & sexual orientations under the queer umbrella, all bodies and all abilities.

  • Join Autostraddle and REI for an #OptOutside Gathering in NYC on Black Friday

Come join us for some hot chocolate and cider, REI swag, and a chance to hang out with other queer and trans folks on a weekend when a lot of us aren’t able to go home to our birth family for the holidays.

  • NYC 2019-08-17: My Body, My Home

“My body, my home” is an ACLU fundraiser organized in response to the recent passage of laws strictly limiting abortion rights in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, and Ohio.
We invite the artists to explore the idea of personal autonomy and what it has meant to them- what does it mean to have the government give you “rights” over your own body? What does it mean when they are taken away? The event will be a series of dance and spoken word performances followed by a raffle, mingling, and lots of snacks.

The event is organized by queer contemporary dance project spacejunkdance. You can check out their webside at www.spacejunkdance.com or their instagram at @spacejunkdance.

Come join us at 5pm on Saturday, August 17th for food and drinks, good conversation, good art, and a good cause. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

Also, if anyone on here is interested in presenting any art they’ve been working on or adding something to one of our raffle baskets, let us know!
