+ Hmm.

+ Lots of queer stuff nominated for Independent Spirit Awards, including loads of noms for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom — and Viola Davis, of course — and best screenplay for Alice Wu’s The Half of It!

+ Why Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom should win at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

+ Games still haven’t got bisexuality right.

+ How Ammonite fetishizes British-ness.

+ Survivor‘s Lyrsa Torres on being a “baby queer nugget” inspiration.

+ The Prom‘s Jo Ellen Pellman says Kate McKinnon is her role model.

+ Gatekeeping is why most films don’t receive diverse reviews.

+ Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon and Doctor Who’s Peal Mackie star in a new lesbian horror series from Audible.

+ Hunter Schafer wants everyone to find their own unique light.

+ Demi Lovato will star in the new comedy, Hungry: “NBC has given a put pilot commitment to Hungry, a single-camera comedy in which ‘friends who belong to a food issues group help each other as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better.'”

  1. i want a princess diana movie where kristen plays every single part, charles, the queen, william, harry, james hewitt, camilla, etc, eddie murphy style, please make this happen for me.

  2. Everytime I see Ammonite in the title of something I always get excited thinking it’s going to be about Nicola Griffith’s Ammonite and then I’m always let down that it’s not a scifi adventure romp set on an entirely female planet. Like, I’m sure the British historical drama has its merits but it’s not space lesbians.
