About Me

About Me

I’m a writer, editor, and Hufflepuff.

As a freelance writer, I’ve written about comic books, science, technology, mental health, television, fan works, environmentalism, poetry, and food.

I have a MA in English.  My academic work has mostly focused on the “rediscovery movement” of feminist literary criticism.  This is the wing of feminist critics who promote women writers who have been erased from the larger literary conversation.  Most of my work is on women writers during the long 19th century.

That said, I have a soft spot in my heart for a lot of other fields, including medieval history, astronomy, religion, politics, and biology.  After a fifteen year break, I’ve recently found myself interested in mythology again.  And like any good (semi-former) goth and 19th century lit nerd, I like vampires.

I love to really dig in and becoming a local everywhere I’ve lived.  I’m particularly fond of Detroit, Portland (Oregon — sorry Maine), London, New York, and New Orleans.
