What I Like

Favorite Queer Books

All the books. There are far too many to name.

Favorite TV Shows

Buffy. West Wing. Veronica Mars. All the crime shows, but mostly Law and Order. Treme. Mad Men. Modern Family. We don’t have cable, so I don’t watch a lot of television. My roommate is obsessed with How I Met Your Mother, so I’m pretty well versed. That’s ok, because I absolutely adore NPH.

Favorite Sandwich

The veggie sandwich from Milk Bar in NOLA. The cream cheese and sauteed mushrooms are my downfall.

Favorite Quotes

“We dance when there is no music. We drink at funerals. We talk too much, and live too large and, frankly, we’re suspicious of those who don’t.” — Chris Rose, on being a New Orleanian

“Those who were seen dancing were considered insane by those who could not hear the music.” — Nietschze

“A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.” — Emma Goldman

“Nothing about us, without us, is for us.”

“It is what you read when you don’t have to that determines what you will be when you can’t help it.” -Oscar Wilde

“Book collecting is an obsession, an occupation, a disease, an addiction, a fascination, an absurdity, a fate. It is not a hobby. Those who do it must do it. Those who do not do it, think of it as a cousin of stamp collecting, a sister of the trophy cabinet, bastard of a sound bank account and a weak mind.” — Jeanette Winterson

“There are many forms of love and affection, some people can spend their whole lives together without knowing each other’s names. Naming is a difficult and time-consuming process; it concerns essences, and it means power. But on the wild nights who can call you home? Only the one who knows your name.” — Jeanette Winterson

“May the bridges you burn light the way.”

“All the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust.” ― J.M. Barrie
