About Me

About Me

I’m Kayla, a thicc, stemme identifying, pansexual mulatto woman that’s here to take up space in the queer community! I’m a writer, traveler, scuba diver, and serious color-er…it’s a meditation like diving and writing and being in nature or exploring. A few summer ago I was a volunteer teacher in a Masai village in Kenya. The experience eventually led to a backpacking stint in Australia that helped me rediscover myself. After that I became an ESL teacher in South Korea, which is where I’m at now. I self-published a book called Letters From Wanderland while I’ve been here; it’s a collection of handwritten letters written for my loved ones from home and abroad. I’m going back to California in September if the US hasn’t been set on fire by then. They say I’m a jack of all trades but a master of none…except for writing…and questioning why we’re all here. You can call me Kay

Favorite Quotes

I have no use for a life lived for tomorrow. I would so much rather be lost, and walking today, than found and chained tight to a future I don’t believe in.

Wherever you are, be all there.
