The Comment Awards Are Powering Up

Guess what! Late last week I was talking to a friend about the perfect strawberry dessert and then THE VERY NEXT DAY, Kamala made this strawberry cream pie for the Dyke Kitchen. The serendipity!

Netflix’s new adaptation of The Babysitters Club is here, it’s queer, and it’s perfect. Really perfect. If, like me, you spent literal years of your early childhood wandering around with your nose in a BSC book, you truly will not be disappointed.

Speaking of perfection: No Filter: Due To a Technical Error This Post Contains Nine (9) Copies Of the Same Picture of Mercedes Mason.

Batwoman has a new lead, bisexual actress Javicia Leslie! This is very exciting news!

The Put It On Vibrate Award to Deli Twotone:

The name makes me think about my old Palm Pilot and honestly this sounds like the ultimate power-up.

The Something’s Fishy Award to Lavendula and adunlap:

And the Steady Betty Award  to Didi:

Betty got me enjoying TV again. Betty got me skating again. Betty got me to think I could pull off shorts & tie dye again. Thank you Betty. Thank you Nina Moran.

On My Top 10 Favorite LGBTQ Films: Riese, Who Appreciates Teen Angst, Suburban Ennui and Angelina Jolie:

The V-H-Yes Award to Ava:

I also did the thing of watching all the movies when I first came out to myself, except it was the late ‘90s and Netflix didn’t exist yet. I got most of them by scouring the listings on my parents satellite TV, finding a showing in the middle of the night, and setting the timer on the VCR to record them. That’s how I first saw Gia, Foxfire, All Over Me, and honestly at least half of the movies that I’d put on my own Top 10 Lesbian Movies list.

On No Filter: Due To a Technical Error This Post Contains Nine (9) Copies Of the Same Picture of Mercedes Mason:

The Welcome Wagon Award to Becca:

This is so funny I decided to leave a comment for the very first time. I love nine identical pictures of Mercedes flexing <3

On Meet Your New Batwoman — Bisexual Actress Javicia Leslie!

The Thunderbat Award to thisaintit:

I’ve never wanted for Black Lightning to be more involved in the arrowverse until this moment. Somebody better give me my Thunder/Batwoman enemies to lovers slowburn fanfic stat (still ride or die for thundergrace tho)

And on My Top 10 Television Shows: Carmen Phillips, Who Has Always Been Rooting For Everybody Black:

The Stardust Award to starlit:

I`m stuck on the way you describe your feelings for Grey’s, especially this little part: “I’ve watched it so many times on a loop that it’s actually embedded itself into my DNA. I wouldn’t still be here if I hadn’t had Grey’s — with it’s drawn out monologues and needlessly complicated sexcapades — glowing that soft, quiet hummm into my darkest corners.

  1. The Wubble is a perfect opportunity for a reality TV series and Wubble Trouble should be its title

  2. I read the awards late last night in the sweltering heat of my (new, unshared) apartment with joy and gratitude.

I think laughing hysterically out loud is incredibly therapeutic don’t you, and I got a good dose of medicine reading the award titles. I always get a kick out of them but this week they were particularly inspired !

@queergirl thank you for dropping by every Friday, we should all have a neighbour like you who pops in for tea and hilarity at least once a week.
