On Things I Read That I Love #318: Eternally Hopeful That This Time There Will Be a Snack:

The TIRTIL^2 Award to Emma Constantine:

This column is a thing I read that I love – I get a rush of excitement when I see it in the feed because I know I’m in for hours of absorbed curiosity and the kinds of provocations that demand change. Thank you, Riese – your curation is a gift!

On Angel Olsen Is Gay, “Shut Up Kiss Me” Now Canon Dyke Anthem:

The Flung Out Of Space Award to Arianna Mayer:

I am fully into everyone living their own lives and loving whoever but also I am DEEPLY VALIDATED BY THIS, I KNEW IT IN MY SOUL THE SECOND I HEARD SOME THINGS COSMIC and also I am just v happy that she has a human who’s bringing her joy

On Zoe Kravitz and Taylour Paige Are “A Thing,” We Stay Winning!

The Take Care Award to Kristin:

I mean plus the thirsty post from Taylour a couple days ago where she says “I’ll take care of you if you want me too.

On Quiz: What Iconic Pop Culture Shoes Are You?

The Won’t You Be (More Than My) Neighbor Award to Hana:

I took it twice and got Mr. Rogers’s sneakers and Anne Lister’s boots, which is the best (most aspirational) compliment I’ve ever gotten.

On “Batwoman” Episode 211 Recap: 2 Bat 2 Furious:

The Fast Car Award to Riley:

I applaud you for only making one Tracy Chapman reference this whole recap. Two queer black women in fast cars had me singing that song all episode long.

And on How Embracing Skincare Helped Me Get My Head Back Inside My Chronically Ill Body:

The Right Words Award to EmilyDanvers:

Thank you, as always, for sharing your writing about chronic illness, Heather. You put into words what I’ve been struggling for a year to say with your paragraph about being tired of hearing what your body has to say and I’m going to borrow “My entire body was a cacophony of baffled misery
