Laura’s Team Pick: Rent a Movie

As much as I love Netflix, their recommendation system doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me [a documentary about Crips and Bloods has been on my front page for days. ?.] What To Rent asks you a bunch of weird questions and then gives you pretty much exactly what you’re looking for. There’s even a mood assessment page so you don’t end up crying when all you really wanted was a little vicarious love.

Laura is a tiny girl who wishes she were a superhero. She likes talking to her grandma on the phone and making things with her hands. Strengths include an impressive knowledge of Harry Potter, the ability to apply sociology to everything under the sun, and a knack for haggling for groceries in Spanish. Weaknesses: Chick-fil-a, her triceps, girls in glasses, and the subjunctive mood. Follow the vagabond adventures of Laura and her bike on twitter [@laurrrrita].

  1. Netflix once told me that because I like High Art and Gia, I might like other dark drug dramas like Traffic. Methinks they missed the point.

    Thanks for this.

  2. OH MAN! I totally watched the Crips and Bloods thing and loved it! Also, netflix suggested “Everest: To The Limit” because I enjoyed “Six Feet Under.” THOSE ARE OPPOSITES.
