You Love Soccer Now, Here’s How to Follow Your 2019 USWNT Faves Home

There’s really nothing left to say about the US women’s soccer team, in large part, because they said it all for themselves — with their lawsuit, their interviews, their social media, their performance, and, yes, even their post-victory partying. There’s plenty of speculation about what’s next in their fight for equal pay and what the 2023 roster will look like, but what’s actually next for these 23 best friends — after visiting AOC — is heading back to their NWSL clubs to finish out their seasons. The best way you can keep supporting them and their excellence is to buy their jerseys, go watch them play live, watch their games on ESPN(!!!), and follow them on social media so they can keep those sponcon dollars coming.

  1. Thank you thank you thank you for this roundup! It’s so important to keep the momentum going- we lost our local team to NC and only during WC years do people realise what an incredible opportunity we had to see these players up close in league play. Go to games, buy season tickets, watch on tv/online- just keep showing up for them!

  2. Buy their jerseys, buy season tickets, go to games, watch on TV, post on social media… and not just for the USWNT but also for the WNBA and NCAA women’s sports

  3. First I just want to say Ashlyn Harris is everything I aspire to be and I wish she had a reality show.

Second is thank you for this post! Something the players have been promoting is if you have enjoyed their World Cup run you should support their club careers! Earlier this week I looked up the NWSL and discovered Sky Blue FC plays literally 15 minutes from my house. See y’all on the 24th!

  4. Thanks so much for this roundup!

I would also note that the NWSL games that are not airing on ESPN will stream live (for free, as far as I can tell) on the Yahoo Sports app! The next game is this Friday July 12th at 7:30pm ET, Sky Blue FC vs Utah Royals!

  5. #18 is sporting a helluva look with shorts as formal wear and shirt worthy of a bodice ripper cover with Southern Baptist lady looking skirt suit jacket.

…I feel as much admiration for that whole look as I do confusion that I’m yacking away about an athlete’s fashion.

  6. for anyone who wants to choose their hometeam based on sheer quantity instead of location or favorites

    Chicago Red Stars: 4
    North Carolina Courage: 4
    Portland Thorns: 4
    Orlando Pride: 3
    Utah Royals: 3
    Reign FC: 2
    Washington Spirit: 2
    Sky Blue FC: 1

  7. Please also give the Houston Dash a shout-out.

They are the only NWSL team who does not have a USWNT player. However they have many Canadian players (Allysha Chapman, Lindsay Agnew, Nichelle Prince, and Sophie Schmidt), Clare Polkinghorne and Kyah Simon of the Australian NT, and Rachel Daly of the English NT.

PLUS they have one of the cutest in-team couples (Rachel Daly is dating Sam Mewis’s older sister Kristie Mewis) so support the gays!

  8. I super-wish Sky Blue was more accessible from NYC. My friend and I went to quite a few matches btwn 2013-2015, but getting there was always a pain in the butt (and honestly, the mismanagement of the team made me less motivated to attend). ANYWAY, i will still try to check them out this season, so if anyone wants to go for a Utah Royals or Orlando Pride game, hit me up!

    • I also wish this! I would love to take my kids to a game but I don’t see a way to get there without a car. We could go see the Red Bulls, the AYSO league they play with in Brooklyn often offers tickets to their games, but they want to see a pro women’s game.

  9. I do love it now, that happened sometime during the game on Sunday. Adrianna Franch’s suit at the ESPYs last night was amazing!

  10. I’m so excited that here in Durham, NC I’m conveniently located near the 2018 NWSL National CHAMPEENS team! It’s so rare to have a lesbian scene leg up on LA, NYC, Minneapolis, Austin, and Atlanta!
