No Filter: Cara Delevingne’s Other Big News Is She’s Joan Collins’ Goddaughter, Apparently

Welcome back to No Filter, your Wednesday fix of queer celebrity Instagram. This week, we received confirmed proof that Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne are totally a thing, which unfortunately I could not cover myself but which Riese attended to with aplomb and panache. We also learned that somebody at Gossip Cop is really pissed that tabloids thought Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell’s relationship might be in jeopardy! The tone of this article is hilariously indignant and I couldn’t help but wonder: whose publicist keeps calling Gossip Cop?

Listen, I admittedly don’t know a whole lot of details about Cara Delevingne; I know how to spell her last name and who her ex girlfriends are. Her godmother is JOAN FRIGGIN COLLINS?!?!? That’s the most exciting news about Cara I’ve heard this week!!!! She’s also really into these unfortunate, appropriative braids right now, which are certainly… a choice she made.

Tried to find the gayest picture in King Princess’ feed this week. Feel like it’s this one.

How your sausage gets made. Hayley Kiyoko just became my favorite music video director.
Tegan Quin is done with summer but here for face masks and I support her in every way possible.

Our pal Ruby Rose (who quit Twitter this week because you guys were so mad at her for being cast at Batwoman, jeez guys) is being… eaten by a prehistoric shark I guess? I haven’t seen the movie yet. Anyway I’ve found this loop fascinating and watched it eight times before I noticed what I was doing.
Kehlani, you do not have to explain any of your haircuts to me; you are perfect forever goodbye.

I can’t caption this better than she captioned it herself.

OK but when I saw this photo I thought her hair had been sewn into the plant somehow and I was very concerned.

  1. Cara Delevingne has the most public relationships. Lol. We always know who she is with at every given time. I wonder who is next after Ashley.

Hayley Kiyoko is definitely my favorite director too. What a gift to the world she is.

Awful with the way our community treated Ruby Rose. Understandable if you don’t think she can act. But to ridicule her sexuality and invalidate her was a new low from us. Couldn’t believe it. How then are we now better than the heteros?

    Kehlani is always perfect.

Omg, is that the gayest Amandla Stenberg picture I’ve seen? Maybe.

    • Just saw The Meg and while it is a hilariously horrible movie, Ruby Rose has really stepped up her acting and accent game! People can practice and learn!! She was so stiff in OITNB but was totally cool in The Meg. Loved it. I laughed so much I actually got a stomach cramp and a headache from trying to not yell in the theater

  2. That Gaby Dunn picture is just perfect. I am trying to think of other LBTQ Jewish women, and so far can Gabby Dunn and Riley Silverman(I think) only come to mind.

  3. Gossip Cop dragging the fuck out of RadarOnline like they broke up with them via text is absolutely hilarious. That entire article sounded personal.

  4. Anyone else think Amber Heard and Tasya van Ree are back together? They’ve been spending a lot of time together recently (and by that, I mean posting about it on instagram every now and then) and they both seem really happy. Plus, they both like wearing those gigantic, wide-brimmed hats so they belong together.

  5. People are angry because Ruby Rose is not Jewish and Batwoman is. At least that’s the big thing I’ve heard about.

    • i didn’t even know batwoman was supposed to be jewish! i’d be so stoked to have more queer jewish actresses.

      • That’s the big thing I hear a lot of people talking about. What do you think? People are really upset that the actress playing Katherine Kane is not a Jewish lesbian. The only thing that is upsetting me is people acting like Jewish actors and actresses have NO representation. But I am a gentile so….. But I am truly interested in what you think????

        • Although the tide has turned a bit in the past decade or two, historically so many Jewish actors have had to change their name and appearance to appear less Jewish in order to find meaningful work. It’s interesting that people are pissed they didn’t find an actual Jewish actor because like, there are Jewish actors (and I haven’t seen Judaism factor in any kind of substantial way regarding someone being cast in a superhero role like, ever before), but I’m sure they chose Ruby for the name recognition. She’ll get people to watch the show! That’s the idea.

    • From what I’ve seen many of the same people demand Ashley Platz to be hired for the role of Batwoman instead, and they absolutely don’t care she’s not a lesbian (though some started spreading lie that she is).

  6. I love that Hayley Kiyoko directs her own music videos. Can’t wait for her to make a full-length lesbian film (I’m hoping).

I want Tegan and Sara to release new music. “I’m dying to know”… when will this happen!?

  7. I’ve never heard of Gossip Cop until just now but I’m already a fan. That article is so delightfully salty.

  8. Really feel you put your finger on the gayest King Princess pic, Stef. Gotta hand it to you.
