Hello and welcome to April, a month full of inspiration and excitement for the whole family, and by “the whole family” I mean gay people looking for lesbian, bisexual and queer characters on their television screens!
First, some business: I want to tell you that last month I didn’t know there was a lesbian character on Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat but there is, and it’s a really great show. (Nothing will ever be as great as the original Jury Duty but these guys really did figure out a way to make it work again in a different scenario!)
Some not-lesbian stuff I’m excited about: An adaptation of the novel Margot’s Got Money Trouble, about a young mother who turns to OnlyFans to support her baby, debuts April 15 on Apple TV, and I fired up the screeners looking for queers and although I didn’t find any explicit queer representation, I kept on watching regardless because I really enjoyed it! Furthermore, Dan Levy’s Big Mistakes drops on Netflix April 9th, and it’s not girl gay but it’s very very guy gay.
The Valley: Season 3 Premiere // April 1/2 // Bravo/Peacock
Jasmine Goode and Melissa Marie will be having their lesbian wedding on this season of Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules spin-off.
Long Time Listener (2026) // April 2 // AMC All BLK
This noir-esque suspense thriller centers on Genesis (Megan Holder) a (bisexual!) true crime podcast host who finds herself and her pod targeted by a scary “long time listener” who seems hell-bent on her destruction. Her co-host, Max, is also queer!
XO Kitty: Season 3 Premiere // April 2 // Netflix

Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) faces her final year at KISS in Season Three — and the trailer suggests the bulk of her romantic attention will be directed towards Min Ho. But her former crush Yuri (Gia Kim) is returning, as is Yuri’s ex Juliana (Regan Aliyah) and the girl Kitty fumbled her thing with, Praveena (Sasha Bhasin). To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before fans will be delighted to hear that the series’ heroine Lara Jean — Kitty’s sister — will appear in multiple episodes of Season Three.
The Testaments: Season 1 Premiere // April 8 // Hulu
While Becka’s character was very subtextually queer in Margaret Atwood’s book, a sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, the show seems to be playing it a little closer to the surface. Set four years after The Handmaid’s Tale, the show is set in a new, slightly reformed Gilead, and focused on Agnes (Chase Infiniti), a pious Gilead native and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), a rebellious newcomer, as they navigate “the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives,” building a relationship with each other that will threaten everything Gilead holds dear. Becka (Mattea Conforti) is Agnes’ best friend. Queer actor Rowan Blanchard plays Shunamite, a pampered, judgmental friend of Agnes’s.
Hacks: Season 5 Premiere // April 9 // HBO Max

Hacks‘ writers have had the last scene of the series planned since the jump, and I for one cannot wait to see it, but also am sad about it, because it is such a good show and I don’t want it to be over. Cherry Jones and Leslie Bibb are joining the cast in an arrangement that seems to be “lesbian couple.”
Outcome (2026) // April 10 // Apple TV+
I’m not sure if she’s playing a trans character, but Laverne Cox is part of the cast of this black comedy following Reef Hawk (Keanu Reeves), a massive movie star looking to rehab his image after making heaps of enemies during his five-year heroin addiction. Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer play his only remaining friends.
Christy (2025) // April 10 // HBO Max
The streaming premiere of the biopic about America’s best-known 1990’s female boxer, Christy Martin (Sydney Sweeney), a lesbian who’s coach-turned-husband attempted to murder her after years of control and abuse.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair: Limited Series Premiere // April 10 // Hulu
Freddie Muniz returns as Malcolm for this four-part original series follow-up. Malcom is apparently no longer really in the middle — he’s got a girlfriend and a daughter and has gone no-contact with his family, until he’s roped back in for his parents’ 40th anniversary. Nonbinary actor Vaughan Murrae plays Kelly, Hal and Lois’ youngest child, who is nonbinary. (Their existence was teased in the original series finale when Lois discovered she was pregnant again).
Euphoria: Season 3 Premiere // April 12 // HBO Max

It’s been a minute since Season 2, and Season 3 is vaulting us five years into the future — where “a group of childhood friends [are] wrestling with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil.” Rue’s using again and in trouble with the law, Cassie’s engaged to Nate and addicted to social media, Jules is in art school, seemingly doing some sex work, and “very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs.” Maddy and Lexi are both working in Hollywood. New cast members include Sharon Stone, Danielle Deadwyler, Natasha Lyonne, Trisha Payta and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
The Audacity: Season One Premiere // April 12 // AMC+
A dark comedy set in the Silicon Valley tech bubble plans to take on “the warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses of the self-styled inventors of the future.” Nonbinary actor Jess McLeod plays pink-haired Harper and I’m gonna assume based on that name and the actor and the hair color that the character is indeed also nonbinary.
From: Season 4 Premiere // April 19 // MGM+
Focusing on the aftermath of town lore-related revelations, Season 4 finds Boyd trying very hard to keep the town together amid some steep odds. While our lesbian Kristi Miller was sidelined for much of Season 3 with a foot injury, we’re hoping to see her out and about with her wife Marielle this year in a season apparently described as “dark, twisted and instantly engaging.”

Liked it verymuch. I always check out your tips for the moth to come and to share.
Love always,

I really enjoyed reading Margo’s Got Money Troubles, much more than I expected, so iM so excited to hear the show’s good!! I also hated The Testaments sooooo much but that’s I think in big part because I adore ambiguity and The Handmaids Tale ends with all that, and this took it from us. What can we do!
The testaments has a queer character, Becka. Also for all Mankind has a couple new ones this season, but mainly Mirreille Enos’ character Celia Boyd. Not sure if you all update this list after the fact.
yeah this is interesting cuz i’m watching the testaments and they’re definitely painting becka as explicitly gay, which is not something i recall being clear in the book? I read the book maybe two months ago so you’d hope I’d remember this!
didn’t know they added new lesbians to for all mankind, will update!
April is really out here doing the most — giving us chaos, queerness, and at least five different reasons to cancel plans and stay glued to our screens. Between messy love polygons in XO, Kitty, a bisexual true crime spiral in Long Time Listener, and whatever emotional damage The Testaments is about to inflict, it’s honestly a full-time job just keeping up. Also, a lesbian wedding on The Valley? We love to see it. April didn’t come to play — it came to dominate the group chat. Cineby
April is really doing the most this year — it’s like every platform got the memo that queer audiences are done surviving on crumbs and are ready for full-course meals. Between a bisexual true crime podcaster being terrorized (honestly, nightmare fuel but I’m in), multiple messy teen love polygons in XO, Kitty, and an actual lesbian wedding on reality TV? We’re getting range. Flixtor
April is really showing up this year — it’s giving a solid mix of chaotic, niche, and genuinely exciting queer TV in the best way. The fact that we’re getting a bisexual true crime podcaster thriller with Long Time Listener already makes the month feel unhinged in a fun way, and honestly, that premise alone deserves attention. April is really showing up for queer TV lovers this year From sapphic weddings to bisexual leads and layered queer storylines, it feels like streaming platforms are finally leaning into authentic representation instead of just hinting at it. I love how this lineup mixes fun, drama, and suspense while still centering queer characters in meaningful ways. If this is the energy for spring, I’m officially glued to my screen. Wcofun
