Lizz’s Team Pick: Pretty Little Liars Giving Back

Now that Glee is over, all I can really do with myself is count down the minutes until Pretty Little Liars starts up again. So while I definitely wasn’t looking for Emily Fields tumblrs online, I stumbled across some wicked neat news. According to the Boston Globe , Pretty Little Liars will be involved in supporting “Staples for Student,” Staples Inc’s collaboration with DoSomething.org to encourage kids to donate school supplies to underprivileged students. While I’m sure this is definitely not a publicity stunt having to do with the show’s epic return June 14th, it’s always nice to see a show/cast get involved in charity work.

From the Globe:

A marketing effort for the campaign features the stars of “Pretty Little Liars” — Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, and Shay Mitchell — who urge teens to make a difference this summer by collecting school supplies and dropping them off at their local Staples store from July 3 through September 17, Staples said in a press release.

I wish I had more paper so I could write poetry about all of my feelings for you

  1. Yay, charity! Yay, Pretty Little Liars!PLL returning is the Big! Lesbian! Summer! Event! EMILY PLEASE DON’T MOVE TO TEXAS!

But to be off-topic and put another summer show on your radar, Degrassi is returning this summer also (yes, that Degrassi) and there is a wonderful (hot) lesbian character named Fiona. (Santana, Emily, Fiona… this is the year of high school lesbian dreamboats, amiright?!) Degrassi also has a FtM transgender character named Adam. (Fiona hooked up with Adam, realized Fiona is actually a lesbian, broke little Adam’s heart, fell for her best friend… things are so messy and complicated on Degrassi.) Here’s an ad that sums it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_iMzOwpfvE Hope AS follows Degrassi when it starts July 18! This will be a good TV summer!
