“To L and Back” Gen Q Podcast 105

The Gen Q chaos continues!

This week on “To L and Back” everyone is processing their feelings and we’re processing our feelings about them processing their feelings! We’re baffled by both newbie couples, delighted by Quiara’s emotional health, and very conflicted about the pairing of Tess and Finley. Can something be both sad and hot? Time and again The L Word proves the answer is yes!

Also our favorite throuple continues to throuple and when it’s time to discuss Drew and Analyssa may just get a third of their own.

My Notes:

+ The article Analyssa mentioned about long nails as a signifier for Black femmes
+ According to Tess, Brite Spot has the best hangover food in LA
+ Leisha Hailey’s gay t-shirt brand
+ I’ve already thought of three actresses I’d love to see play Tess’ mom, but would love to hear who you want!
+ We were right! The play is by Marja and it’s called Bugaboo and the Silent One. Here’s a review of the original production.

  1. Thank you Drew and Analyssa! Huge fan of your podcast, really appreciate hearing some fellow nerds go deep on this episodes. Especially love hearing y’all’s take on Gen Q’s attempts to be more inclusive. Not a lot of recaps are written with trans perspective and sensitivity and I love hearing your take, Drew!

My vote is for Mary-Louise Parker to play Tess’s mom. Total babe, queer icon and amazing actor.

Also, y’all mentioned at the start of the episode that you want to make a playlist with all the songs in each episode… The L Word has a Spotify profile (https://open.spotify.com/user/2yko40d0p81h460vn9l8cpk6o?si=03broKwUQHmmlBhdGXRitA) with an “The L Word: Generation Q | Official Playlist”, which appears to be getting a weekly addition of all the songs in each episode. Super thorough. The profile also has some cute individual playlists created by the actors for their characters.
