To a Chubby Mexican Lesbian: I’m With You, I See You, I Love You

Someone sent me this complex and beautiful message on Tumblr:

When I was 12 I watched your ItGetsBetter vid and I didn’t understand it. Now I’m an openly QWOC junior in HS. I thought of your vid after DallasPride today. I watched it again and it makes sense to me now; not much has gotten better. But i’ve gotten stronger and surround myself w/ppl who are better. THANK YOU for giving a chubby self-loathing Mexican lesbian something to think about all those years ago. I am still very much that person, but now, I’m happy with myself.

This video is for you, homeslice. Much love, I’m with you, I see you, I love you.

Editor’s note: Here is Gabby’s original It Gets Better video, referenced above. We think both videos are perfect.
