Playlist: Just Fruit

I don’t know, I just like fruit. I excluded songs whose titles don’t actually reference the fruit, in its fruit form (so, “orange sky,” “lemonade,” and “cherry pie” were all out). I only chose fruit that could be represented by an emoji (sorry, grapefruit, cantaloupe, and peacherine). For each fruit, I picked up to 3 song(s) fitting those criteria, and here we are.

Also, I will say, I played this as a party mix and it was relatively successful if a bit weird. Go forth and experiment, my dear fruits and fruit-lovers.

  1. I’d like to offer up Led Zepplin’s Tangerine and suggest a queer lady type musician do a cover of it ASAP because look at these lyrics:

    “Measuring a summer’s day, I only finds it slips away to grey,
    The hours, they bring me pain.

    Tangerine, Tangerine, Living reflection from a dream;
    I was her love, she was my queen, And now a thousand years between.

    Thinking how it used to be, Does she still remember times like these?
    To think of us again? And I do.”

    They beg for some of that slow, soft sad guitar shit that queers ladies not me love.
