Welcome back to No Filter, in which we dissect the previous week’s offerings in the bountiful garden of queer celebrity Instagram. I am your host, Vincent Price.

It is once again with great difficulty that I declare this the most gay photo on King Princess’ Insta this week.

If you guys don’t turn this into a “NOT BAD” meme by the end of today I quit.

YOU KNOW WHO’S BI? THIS GUY. She also changed her handle so for a minute I thought she had disappeared and I was UPSET but no, that’s just the bisexual invisibility that affects us 364 days out of the rest of the year.

And just like that, here’s Lena Waithe taking over Stephanie Beatriz’s tradition of standing in front of fancy walls while being extremely goodlooking.

Samira Wiley, never not workin’ it extremely hard.

I would like to imagine that these are my arms in this photo and I’m not adjusting Hayley’s hair or jewelry or anything, I’m just gently caressing her face. She looks thrilled.

Stars! They’re just like us! They catch colds during international travel! They get zits! They go to Japan to sing Radiohead songs! They joke nervously about the darkness that consumes us all!!!

  1. I’ve been to that gelato place and it’s fairly good. Sad that I’m always in the right place at the wrong time.

  2. Seeing Lena Waithe in front of that Marriott sign returned me to that time Bill Marriott compared gay marriage to liquor because capitalism:

In an interview last year with Business Insider, Bill Marriott explained that he personally believed that marriage was between a man and a woman. But he said he does not mix his views on the subject with operation of the business.

“We have to take care of our people, regardless of their sexual orientation or anything else,” Bill Marriott said.”We have all the American values: the values of hard work, the values of integrity, the values of fairness and respect.”

He further pointed out, “Our church is very much opposed to alcohol and we’re probably one of the biggest sales engines of liquor in the United States. I don’t drink. We serve a lot of liquor.”

  3. Some very contemplative glances from the queers this week–maybe because of that that all-consuming darkness..

regardless (or is it as a result?) everyone looks v. v. chic!

  4. about king princess: there are sweet pics with fans before/after the berlin concert https://www.instagram.com/p/BoHe4I8Beak/?hl=de&taken-at=10218948 + https://www.instagram.com/p/BoKBFDznP0-/?hl=de&taken-at=10218948 l cant upload them,as the computer on here restricts about uploading it to the harddrive.,can someone uploading it in comments? loved the vibe there, mostly 20somethings( +younger ) they were so hyper+happy to be there, they celebrated every word of her, it seemed- i imagine that what felt like in a one direction/BTS concert in that age group. me, a 30sth, was def in t.minority. she flirted with the audience , got laughs when she asked whe she asked who was straight in the audience, a. 2-4 people “whoohoooed”, and she made fun about the “sad little cheer”. nice feeling for once the hetero`s were inthe minority for once. her mannerisms were pretty “new yorker-ish” pretty sarcastic at times, people next to me interpreted it as unfriendly though.great concert, played also some unreleased stuff.

  5. enjoying the theme for this column; thank you Vincent.

Also, something I never thought would happen: reading the No Filter column regularly is making me kind of want to join instagram and follow some of these people? This would be like, if your Uncle Ned who runs an automotive repair shop and whose pop culture knowledge only goes up to about 1995, when he was last in college, joins instagram. I’m saying it would be uncharacteristic.

But Hannah Gadsby and Sandrah Oh? Where else would I get the satisfaction of knowing these two hung out and that’s what it looked like? Can I see more of this type of thing, like every day? <3 <3 <3
