Crystal Castles re-recorded Not In Love with the gorgeous Robert Smith (from The Cure) and it made me want to cry. Have a listen. Go on, go on.

  1. Robert Smith is eternal. This song is fab – wish I could find it for purchase (other than at i-tunes – I don’t use i-tunes).

If you like this song, you probably will like “Perfect Blue Sky” by Junkie XL – also features Robert Smith. That is a song that can make me cry and is very consistent with the feel and tone of this song.

  2. Love it.

Robert Smith is pure awesome. And his take reminds me of the original from Platinum Blonde with Mark Holmes at the reigns.

    • They tweaked the lyrics though…(an improvement I think).

      This version:
We were lovers. Now we can’t be friends.

      The original:
You said we’re lovers. We could never be friends.

  3. This is a very Smith-ish sound. Takes me back to the stoner dormrooms of my angst-filled youth.

  4. This will play forever.

I would just like to state, for the record, that Crystal Castles live is the hottest thing ever. Even in pouring rain.

Also, glad to see you’re still on earth, that (for unknown reasons) being your preferred location.

  5. i have listened to this song on repeat all day long, and plan on listening to it all night long.
also i’m not sure if anybody else sang this song if i would love it as much. robert i love you.

  6. Wow, excellent song pick. Takes me back to the mid 1990s (aka the cider years).

This may be the best thing Robert Smith has done in the past ten years.
