The answer to 27 across doubles as a thing you can do to the answers to 10/20 across, which gets you back to the clues…

My Brain Hurts™
This one was hard but I did it! And I did it while drinking jasmine tea and watching the sky get lighter as the sun rose. What a lovely way to start the weekend.
WHAT DOES 20 ACROSS MEAN
it wasn’t even the last word i got but i cannot make it make sense with the clue because of the overlap of types of toboggan my poor brain

it helped to use a word like “eliminate” as a synonym in my head– you have to eliminate the extra letters (aka do what the answer to 27 says) in order for the answers to 10 and 20 to make sense

11.24 minutes in theory, but i put it down to dig my allotment for several hours so that = uncounted ruminating time. Felt like I really achieved something completing this one!
