+ “Poetry and perversion are not unrelated as practices. Kink is not just a lifestyle: it’s an art form. It is continually developing, fed by new ideas, new models, and new resources. Similarly, poetry, which comes with plenty of hierarchies and assumptions, should embrace the future while acknowledging the past,” writes Kristen Irving at the Rumpus, on imposter syndrome, status anxiety, poetry and kink as flawed communities, and feeling legitimate:

“Feeling legit in kink is about the construction and maintenance of an identity, and spending money is just one way of shoring that up. Once you’re out, even if it’s under an online pseudonym, there’s pressure to mark your turf, to express yourself, to say what’s unique about you, and to be noticed. To be adventurous, available, active. One of my earliest worries was that I couldn’t “take” as much physical punishment as other people, and would thereby disappoint my partner. I was fortunate to meet a top who clarified that it should be less about what the bottom can take, and more about what they need—there is, after all, more than one way to skin a brat. Still, it took a while to internalize that.”

+ An exhibit at The Untitled Space Gallery is highlighting women’s erotic gaze.

+ Vaginal fluids! How does anyone know if they’re normal? First of all, discharge alone doesn’t mean something’s wrong; vaginas have discharge for lots of reasons. But also:

“‘Discharge by itself might not be an issue, but if you have discharge plus other symptoms, it’s more likely to be something that may need to be treated or could potentially be treatable,’ Yudin says.

If you notice an abrupt change in smell or start experiencing burning or irritation around your vagina, Yudin explains, it could be a sign that something else is up—possibly an infection. Remember the delicate balance of vaginal bacteria? Disturbances to that balance can lead to vaginal irritation, a ‘fishy’ odor, painful pee, uncomfortable sex and changes in discharge.”

+ Sometimes you really can get a buttplug stuck inside you, so stay safe by making sure any toy for your butt has a flared base that’s larger in diameter than the largest part of the toy, as well as being made of safe materials and paired with the right lube.

+ Transhumanists are searching for a way to have an orgasm whenever you want, no genital stimulation required.

+ Wondering what PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome) is? Ainsley Yeager explains that it’s a hormonal imbalance that leads to ovarian cysts and that it’s “currently uncurable, uncommon, and comes with a truck load of symptoms.”

+ “For companies on the fringe of mainstream media, like the adult entertainment industry, the end of an open internet could have dire consequences for their businesses and free speech,” writes Samantha Cole for Motherboard.

+ If you’re not officially dating, do you have to officially break up?

+ “The Horny Time in 2017 is about to be the horniest we’ve ever seen,” writes Dayna Evans for the Cut. Why not prepare yourself by learning how to knot a cherry stem with your tongue?

  1. Not sure I agree with the need for a break up conversation in a casual situation when no one is trying to meet up again.

If you go out and no one says, “Let’s do this again,” or “I’ll call you,” and no one texts, isn’t that clear enough that neither person is interested in continuing things? Isn’t it kind of presumptuous and maybe a little mean to contact someone who isn’t contacting you just to make sure they know that you’re not interested either?

Or is this just my lack of social skills showing?

  2. Ah so it’s normal that I get really horny in summer compared to winter

  3. Just got diagnosed with PCOS last week! Happy to see some good info on it popping up in the universe!

    • Esp when all that websites I’ve looked at consistently mention “inappropriate hair growth” or “inappropriate male pattern hair growth”. Blech
