Nicolette Mason’s New Collection Amps Up The Badassery With Fun Femme Threads

Writer, blogger and generally awesome, gay, style-oriented human Nicolette Mason launched a 11-piece, size 2-22 collection with ModCloth this week! As a fan of Nicolette’s Cher Herowitz meets Wednesday Addams aesthetic, I was thrilled to see what their collaboration would hold. I was not disappointed!

Vintage inspired, cheeky and plain ol’ fun, get set for a dapper femme tux set (jacket + trousers) and the sweetest pink frock I ever did see outside of a 1950’s prom. The lookbook (shot in LA) stars a melange of some of Nicolette’s closest pals, both IRL and online, including Gabi of GabiFresh & Dannielle of Everyone Is Gay!!! My favourite pick of the bunch? The Les Femmes top, ’cause I can’t resist a double entendre. Check the rest of the collection at Modcloth!

  1. Few!
I was about to post a really irritated comment regarding my feels on this collection only going up to a size 22, and thus leaving out a lot of bigger fats.
It turns everything runs up through a US size 30. Not sure why it’s advertised as sizes 2-22 then????!!!!

    • Modcloth can be confusing. I think what you are seeing is that Modcloth offers some things up to size 30, but this particular collection only goes up to 22. As someone who has gone from a 16 to a 24 over the span of 2011-2014, I am often excluded from Modcloth (and many other) collections, but feel grateful that they still have some options for me. I can’t order Autostraddle shirts either. Boobs make me a 3X in a shirt and they only go up to 2X, so.

    • Hey girl! Can I ask you why the message is giving you mixed feels? :)

As a french-speaking woman, I first thought the shirt meant to say “The women” in french language. “Les” is the plural form of “Le” (masculine) or “La” (feminine).

Maybe there is something that I’m missing due to the fact that I am not a native english speaker? Is it because the shirt can also read “Lesbian femmes”? With “les” acting as a diminutive form for “lesbian”?

Please tell me I’m supah curious!
