We had a great September and we’ve got a really special November coming up. But right here, right now? We’re in October. And despite October allegedly being a gay-adjacent month due to Halloween, there is really nothing coming for the queer women and/or trans people of this cruel world! I dug very deeply and found a few shreds for you, but nothing major besides the streaming release of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma!

However, if you live in the UK you could potentially be enjoying Bella Ramsey in a new season of Celebrity Traitors and I love that for you.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (2026) // October 2 // MUBI

camp miasma

Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson star in Jane Schoenbrun’s third feature, a slasher Nic Anstett describes as “a loving embrace of the role that fantasy, imagination, and performance play in sex and sexuality regardless of gender.” Einbinder plays Kris, an up-and-coming queer indie filmmaker tasked with summoning a studio-mandated Camp Miasma franchise reimagining, who’s determined to recruit the original’s final girl, reclusive starlet Billy (Gillian Anderson). Is there any sapphic film I have heard more about this year than this film? I don’t believe so!

Adventure Time: Side Quests: Season Two // October 2 // Disney+ & Hulu
Finn and Jake continue to enjoy whimsical low-stakes adventures in the second season of this animated series, with canonical couple Marceline and Princess Bubblegum both returning.

Tip Toe: Series Premiere // October 2 // Starz
Gay TV legend Russell T Davies “is back with his best work inTip Toe,” writes Sally, which follows “ten ominous days” in the lives of two neighbors in the Manchester suburbs. Alan Cumming stars as Leo, a flamboyant gay bar owner who gets locked out of his apartment following a hookup-gone-wrong and thus must confront his icy relationship and idealogical conflicts with his unhappily married electrician neighbor Clive. Leo’s bar staff includes trans woman Zee and non-binary Hannah. The primary focus is of course Leo, but it’s very good and thus very much worth mentioning here!

All American: Season Eight // October 6 // Netflix
The final season of the CW’s teen drama, which wrapped up this week, spans a single week and its Beverly-Crenshaw football showcase rather than a traditional football season. There’s lots in store for our lesbian Cooper, played by Bre-Z.

Carrie: Limited Series // October 7 // Prime Video
We had hoped that Mike Flannagan’s Carrie would be at least a little bit queer so I wanted to follow up and let you know from watching the screeners that it isn’t! However, it is very good!! Nonbinary actor Thalia Dudek’s Emaline, a fellow outcast at Carrie’s new school, is kinda queer-coded (it’s hard to explain) and there’s a gay male guidance counselor and lots of queer & trans actors and like… gay extras? But no queer female and/or trans characters.

Rage (Furia): Part Two // October 9 // HBO Max
This Spanish all-women black comedy from queer co-writer and director Félix Sabroso features women seeking revenge on a system that extorts and oppresses them. Details of Season Two remain under wraps, but there are two women kissing in the trailer. Which doesn’t necessarily mean anything at all but it’s a thin month…

Helluva Boss: Season Three, Part One // October 14 // Prime Video

Hazbin Hotel’s VivziePop is the brains behind Helluva Boss, an adult animated musical black comedy set at hitman startup I.M.P, headquartered in hell. It’s stuffed with queers including trans lesbian humanoid imp demon Sallie May and bisexual receptionist Hellhound Loona.

9-1-1: Season 10 Premiere // October 15 // ABC (next day on Hulu)
Hen (Aisha Hinds) will have a storyline this season that involves a change in her household involving one of their kids. Also you can look forward to seeing the crew tackle a massive sinkhole in Los Angeles that turns into a volcano!

Grey’s Anatomy: Season 23 Premiere // October 15 // ABC (next day on Hulu)
Season 22 opened with Amelia’s ex, Dr. Toni Wright (Jen Landon) arriving at Amelia’s house to find Dr. Cass Beckman (Sophia Bush) in her bed —and both Amelia and Toni are returning for Season 23.

Kate Berlant: Parmesan (2026) // October 16 // HBO Max
Queer comedian Kate Berlant’s stand-up special will include “sharp reflections and stream-of-consciousness epiphanies about the moon, her social media feeds and her sexuality.”

Nobody Wants This: Season Three // October 22 // Netflix
Joanne’s friend Ashley (Sherry Cola) I believe will be showing up for a tiny little slice of time in a fun little well-cast comedy that this season finds Noah (Adam Brody) and Joanne (Kristen Bell) moving in together while Joanne attends conversion class.

The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Season Seven // October 27 // Shudder & AMC+
The Boulet Brothers host the drag/horror competition that welcomes trans and nonbinary perfomers of all genders. The season will pay homage to ’80s and ’90s VHS horror.
