Description: Far Out Cabaret is an interactive night of hilarious gameshows, experimental community experiences, and queer, edgy and provocative performances that push against the status quo. Join us for unforgettable online shenanigans Friday, April 24!

The night will feature performances by A-Camp icon Gia Fagnelli and hip-hop artist and activist Def Sound, a spirited round of the Queer Online Dating Game, and snack + beverage breaks with DIY legend (and longtime Autostraddle contributor) Lu Wooley. Your hosts for the evening will be two unapologetic feminists — former Autostraddle editor and Community Director Carmen Rios and spoken word performer HoneyToes.You are sure to laugh, cry and everything in between. You can participate or just watch and be entertained.

MEET THE CABARET CREW:

+ HoneyToes performed her spoken word and one-woman shows on stages in downtown New York for years. She performed and hosted shows as drag king Nikki Silver in the drag king explosion of the 90s. She hosted a feminist sexuality program on Cherry Bomb, and has written two books about sexuality under her given name Amy Jo Goddard: the classic Lesbian Sex Secrets for Men and Woman on Fire: Nine Elements to Wake up Your Erotic Energy, Personal Power and Sexual Intelligence. She teaches sexual empowerment programs, and delivered her popular TEDx talk Owning Your Sexual Power. She is the director and producer of the forthcoming film At Your Cervix. This feline loving California-New York hybrid has been named one of Go Magazine’s “100 Women We Love” and Kinkly’s “100 Sex Blogging Superheroes”.

+ Carmen Rios is a feminist writer, broadcaster and movement-builder. She’s currently a Consulting Editor at Ms. and a strategist for The Art of Equal Pay Campaign, as well as the host of Bitch Media’s Popaganda podcast and a contributor at DAME and the Women’s Media Center. Carmen is the former Managing Digital Editor at Ms. and Feminism Editor, Community Director and Social Media Co-Director at Autostraddle, and her writing on gender, class, sexuality, race and social justice has been published by outlets like the Atlantic’s CityLab, BuzzFeed, ElixHER, Feministing, Girlboss, Mic, MEL and Everyday Feminism. + Gia Fagnelli is a multi-media multi-medium creator bridging galaxies of: drag, pole, prose, video art, soundscapes, installation art, + many forms of movement transmitting the amalgam throughout the universe for a uniquely augmented reality ∆ extra•terrestrial gender experiment ∆ intergalactic stripperheaux ∆

+ Def Sound is a hip hop artist, artist, producer, poet & community activist inspired by the genres social justice roots and the vibrant diversity of his community. His work captures the sound of spiritual and political freedom.

+ Lu Wooley is an immigrant rights attorney by day, a DIY maven by night, and an all-around busy bee.
