Happy Sunday lemon drops! We’re are in the FINAL COUNTDOWN! In less than a month, we will be in another fucking year. How did this happen? How does time keep passing? I don’t know because I’m not a scientist, but here we are! So since we’re here, let’s get cracking with some good news, shall we?

Major love to @breenache for their amazing art & @el.carozon for their visioning and layout skillz. Also, thanks mami @alpe53 for comin’ through with the Spanish translation editing ?? ? ? ? ((This is a hardcopy proof. Still got some edits to do before placing major order & fulfilling kickstarter pledges & making available to public)) #TheyCallMeMix #qtpocbooks #qtpoc #kindergarten #kinderdays #qtpocteachers #transgender #bookrecommendation #maestrx
There must be a major cultural shift on how Black parents approach their queer and trans children. That begins with us having more real conversations about the complexity of gender. It means our understanding and articulating that Blackness is expansive and that our Blackness is inherently gender nonconforming. The gender scripts we have, particularly in the United States, are the byproducts of a restrictive white supremacist history and system. We must resist the idea that we could or should ever want to fit the flawed, limited concepts of womanhood and manhood that have damaged our own views of ourselves, our families and our community.
Bye friends! See you soon! Also, have you heard the good news, A-Camp 2019 is happening during my birthday week!!! I get to turn 29 in front of hundreds of my favorite people, and hopefully you! Mark your calendars, the gemini energy will be strong, and the oranges in Ojai are so, so good.
