    • Yeah, it seems like Elizabeth Debicki is well-cast – she’s at least trying with Woolf’s voice, and she looks great.

But playing Vita a coquette is all wrong. I mean, sure, she went from one woman to the next, but she was either right into it, passionately, or over it and totally cold. Not a flirt as such. And she got progressively more butch as time went on, although of course she never stopped wearing silk blouses and pearls (and of course dressing up as the occasion required).

    • Me too, re Hustlers! I am totally here for those awesome women and the token white chick flex.

I mean, I never thought I’d be looking forward to a movie with J Lo in it, but it looks like it’s a good vehicle for a change.

  1. I guess I need a full scene from Jennifer Lopez, but my mind is having a great, and very HOT, competition between her and Salma Hayek.

That tiny bit with Constance Wu and the man in the truck? Some warm feelings there.

  2. Well I was excited for Vita & Virginia until Ms Arterton showed up with her total lack of presence and that dreadful accent. Vita was nothing if not charismatic – Gemma, bless her, seems ill-equipped to carry this off.

Here’s a recording of Vita reading her poem ‘The Land’. That voice!
