No Filter: Excuse Me, Can We Talk About Kehlani and Her Girlfriend?

Welcome back to No Filter, our weekly foray into the dark, weird world of queer celebrity Instagram and other very important media engagements. This week, there is no news at all about Janelle Monáe’s alleged relationship with Tessa Thompson, but the news is rife of reports of Famous Symmetrical Lady Amber Heard spending a lot of time with her gal pals. Just saying. Also, Kristen Stewart apparently has this haircut now, Rey from Star Wars is awfully friendly with this makeup artist and Gillian Anderson is probably secretly dating Autostraddle’s Managing Editor Rachel Kincaid. What does it all mean?!?!?!

Also, regretfully:

I haven’t personally spent a lot of time in business class so I may not know what I’m talking about, but I believe Samira Wiley is either piloting this plane or hitching a ride on Cara Delevingne’s private jet service.

Proud to bring you this important breaking news.

Just thought you’d like to know.

Join us next week, when we’ll hopefully be back to Joan/Anna videos. Rumor has it Mallory Ortberg is working on a separate Joni Mitchell character to join our favorite spider-sisters.

I feel like this is how girls wore trousers in 1998, after one of the boys ran up and tugged on them.

(If you’re too young to remember the late 1990s, back then teens all wore the same Adidas tearaway track pants with snap buttons all way down the sides … although for female teens it was seen as tempting fate because all it took was one “boys will be boys” boy and you were basically naked from the waist down)

    • I remember those pants very well, and it was usually the guys trying to embarrass another guy as a version of pantsing them. I know many girls in my middle school during that time had the bottom 3 unbuttoned on one side.
